| As the Bryant Bridge was being built -- the first stage in the construction of an "Eastern Bypass" of heavily travelled McFarland Blvd (US 82) connecting areas north of the Black Warrior River with I-20/59 -- the Coral Industries building was being upgraded to include a showroom. Although it would appear that should the Eastern Bypass be linked to the city of Northport and traffic flowing into town from Fayette and Pickens Counties on major highways, Coral Industries stands right in the way and would have to go. Such a highway project is years from beginning, however, so it's a non-issue at this point. Construction of the showroom and the bridge are both complete at this point. Perhaps motorists on Rice Mine Road will in the future be treated to demonstrations of the shower equipment by supermodels and b-actors brought in by Coral to tout the worthiness of their bathroom apparatii. |
