| Hell's Army Boston and The Loki Family is a Non-Denominational Satanist Group. This means that our Members come from many different Denominations of Satanism, and therefore will have different concepts, beliefs and ideas of who and what Satan is, and what he means to us as his people. This section was written so that those of you who are new to Satanism can learn more about the many Denominations thereof, and so that those of you who are from without can learn more about us to begin with. Be aware that in this section, you may read things that surprise you, and there may be things which offend you. Regardless, you will read things that will inform you. Read on, and be prepared to learn... | ||||||||||
| LaVeyan Satanism - The LaVeyans follow a code and way of life started by Anton Szeandor LaVey, who founded the "Church of Satan" on Walpurgisnacht, 1969. They believe in Satan not as a living, sentient being, but rather as a concept of The Forces of Darkness, and as what the ideal Satanist should embody. LaVeyans embrace carnal, vital existance, instead of "spiritual pipe-dreams". The Satanic Bible, written by LaVey himself, contains nine Satanic Statements, which include that Satan represents responsibility to the responsible, vengeance instead of turning the other cheek, kindness to those who deserve it, and indulgence instead of abstinence among other things. | ||||||||||
| Spiritual Satanism - The Spiritual Satanists, on the other hand, DO believe that Satan is a living being. They believe that Satan, not Yahweh/Jehovah, created humanity. According to Spiritual Satanic theory, Satan was not indeed one of God's Angels, but was and is a God in and of Himself. They believe that the source of the "falling out" between God and "Father Satan" as they call him, was that Satan refused to destroy humanity when God ordered him to. They say that Satan wanted to empower and elevate humanity, and would not allow our destruction, and so Yahweh/Jehovah and Satan stopped working together, and became enemies. Still some Spiritual Satanists believe that God does not, in fact exist, either because he never did, or because he was destroyed. Spiritual Satanists believe that Heaven and Hell, and whatever forces are involved with either have just recently finished their final war, with Satan and the Demons of Hell emerging victorious. | ||||||||||
| Traditonal Satanism - The Traditional Satanists follow the teachings and practices listed in a Sacred Text known by many names, including "The Codex Searus", and "The Black Book of Satanism". To them, Satan is a symbol of their strength and the giver of their youth and vitality. They often practice thier Satanic Magick in groups, which make up the Congregations of their Temples to Satan. According to The Black Book of Satanism, the Traditional Satanists seek to journey through the darkness within themselves in order to attain self-divinity and fulfill the potentiality of their existance. The Codex Searus was, in fact where the saying, "That which does not kill us makes us stronger" originated. It is among the "Satanic Points" listed towards the beginning of the text. | ||||||||||
| When more Denominations of our most unholy religion become known to me, I will list them herein. Until that point, what has been listed so far is the extent of my knowledge of the Satanic Denominations. -Valkyri (Loki Family High Council Member and Administrator: Hell's Army Boston) |
