Nightly Wonderland
by Natalie Wright
As I lie in bed
the light through the window
hits one of the walls
and makes it look like another doorway
The little girl in me
long since out grown
wants to run to the secret passageway
and find my Wonderland, my Secret Garden,
find my own special place
But the teenager currently residing her
cynical without reason
knows that if I jump out of bed-
probably stub my toe in the process-
if I come to that wall
if I reach out my hand
I'll just be dissapointed
