Sorry, that was last week's review. Anchorman is the story of a local San Diego anchor, Ron Burgundy. He's quirky, slightly off-kilter, but definitely sexist. He's joined by his equally sexist cronies, Brian Fantana, ____, and Brick Tamblyn. Their world is thrown for a loop when the beautiful Veronica Corningstone joins the News 4 team.
The film chronicles the hilarious antics these four men pull off in hopes Corningstone will quit her position. In the end Burgundy gets the girl and his "assumed to be dead" dog Baxter.
Anchorman is one of those comedies that makes you feel glad on the inside. It's so dumb and random that you reach an orgasm of comedy by the credits.
Ferrel is at his usual genius, supported by a team of true talent. While each other Anchorman and woman has their share of gems, Steve Carrel steals the show. If you don't laugh at 98% of his lines you are not worthy of existing.
And who can forget the cameos. There were a bunch, but the only one I want to touch on is Vince Vaughn. He plays the rival anchorman Wes Mantooth. In the short time he's on-screen he has some of the more memorable quotes.
Also, props were given for using a deleted Old School dialogue. Good job boys.
