Groups
Below are four groups- two that are pro-marijuana, two that are anti-marijuana. If you wish to continue your own research, they are good launch pads. They are also good places to look to for getting involved in the "great debate."
Groups I Investigated:
Drug Policy Alliance:
The Drug Policy is a non-for-profit organization, which makes it, generally, a less reliable source that tends to be more biased. The source is in fact biased to some degree. It is committed to putting factual information out about many different substances, and getting news out about the progression and regression that is made in regards the substances. They provide author names for all of their works. They provide contact information, and it is easily accessible on the website. They provide all of their sources in their full articles. However, for their short information summaries, they dont have the sources cited.
National Institute on Drug Abuse:
This is potentially a highly reliable source. It could be considered biased in that it is a governmental source. Currently there is what is called a War on Drugs. The government is siphoning a large amount of the tax dollars of Americans to try to eliminate the threat of drugs. Due to this, it is very plausible that the information provided would be one sided. Also, none of the information used is cited/sourced. The authors for works are not available. The date of the most recent update is provided for all articles. And, contact information is readily available for all who wish to contact.
