Llanos - The Plains

The plains of Venezuela form part of one of the most extensional
regions of Southamerica.

In this part of our country you will not find any mountains,
there are just great extensions of flat lands.

Tradicionally the Llanos are used for stock-farming because of its big extensions,
which is equivalent to one third part of  Venezuela.

In the Llanos exists a lot of rivers, for example the
Apure, Arauca, Capanaparo, Cinaruco, Guaritico, La Pica, Naure, Casanarito, etc. - most of them
flow into the famous
Orinoco River.

On behalf  of the caracteristics of the plains there are a lot of lagoons, creeks,
gallery-woods and a great natural life.

In these rivers and lagoons we can find a great  variaty of fishes, for example the
Peacock Bass, Payara, Cat Fish, Palometas, Piraas, etc.,
the real paradise for anglers!

Furthermore we can see many animals, like birds (e.g.
Hoazin), crocodiles
(caimans, babas),
capabaras (water hog), snakes (e.g. Anaconda), cattle, etc.!

And nearly unbelievable - Orchids!
