Interviewing

The one who I interview with was a lady; her name is Maria, forty-four years old. She is an Africa American born in United States. She is a friend that works with my mom in the same office. My mom invited her to my dads birthday party last night, because my dads birthday is tomorrow. She was glad to let me use her for the project and she said I am dedicated to do my assignment in a party.
The first question I asked her was what kind of recreation did she like to do when she was a teenager. She said that sometimes she hangs out with her friends to movies and she went to her neighbor's house with her brother to watch television when she was young. She said that because not every family can own a television back in that time. She was very excited that time when her house had the first television and computer. She also thinks that technology is very great today. Many people have computers in their house. When she was in middle school, all the students went to school to learn and most of the school had buses like now. But the school didnt provided track team, clubs, or bands. They did not have any after-school programs for students to join in. But she said that everyone felt happy to go to school.
Richard Nixon was the president when Maria was a teen. What she most remembered about him is he succeeded in ending the American fighting in Vietnam and he improved relations with China and the USSR during his presidency. She remembered that everything was cheaper than now that time, and her parents salary was not very high. She wish that she will have a better job than her parents when she was little, and she is proud that she has a good career now. She told me that Women demand full rights and privileges in the society. And she thinks that African-Americans made their presence felt as the number of black members in the congress increase was important during her era. She thinks that the Watergate was important, when Nixon had to leave the White House. And she also remember the first earth day, she said that these could be some pressing issue in society during that time.
