Chapter 02
Chapter 2 --- Lost and alone Running yet again! This time from a someone and not a falling building. I can't remember exactly what happened first. My dad had woken me up from a restless sleep and we were off running. But from what, I still didn't know. Dad had suddenly shoved me into a small niche when there had been a dead-end in site. I of course protested about being left alone, but no argument started up. That someone, who had made everybody start to run in the first place, had came a little later. Me still in the niche and everyone else outside in a corner. I couldn't get a real good view of the person since his back was turned to me. He had spiky, black hair that reached to his shoulders. He wore the strangest outfit that I have ever seen. It consisted of blue, spandex body suit with plastic looking armor over it. But, besides the outfit, the thing that surprised me the most about this man is that he had a tail! A long, brown, fluffy tail! Maybe fluffy isn't the right word, bristled is more like it. Although I saw no reason why all the people would be afraid of him. Maybe he had done something that would scare people up while I was asleep but other then that he looked quiet harmless. He was saying something, and with me thoughts running I missed some of it. All I had heard was this, " Saiyajin...take over...slaves..." My brain had gone "Uhuh! I ain't gonna be no one's slave!" I looked to the back of the niche to find a small opening. Small but I can squeeze through. I pushed my head and hands through first, only to realize that it was actually smaller then I thought it was... "A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y and Z Now I said my abc's next time wont you sing with me?" I was able to get through the tiny hole with just a little trouble. I sat in an old store near a window and looked out. I wasn't worried that that person would find me. I mean I was about five stories high and I blocked all the entrances to this little room. But I highly doubt that anyone could see me this high or even try to bother coming up the stairs and digging for the entrance. It's not like this guy can fly, right? And at the very moment I'm bored to absolute tears. See? I'm crying! But being bored is not the reason. I don't know where my parents were. For all I knew they could be a prisoned up in some cell with...the dude...that Saiyajin! I layed my head back against the pane of the window. Since the glass from the window was broken, a breeze took the loose strains from my hair and played with them, making the little curls dance. I ran my hand through my light, golden brown hair and sighed. I was alone in this city. There had not been a single person on the streets as I made my way to this building. Not even in the other buildings, there was absolutely no life what so ever. I've been alone before, but not like this. I drifted off to sleep. A cold draft woke me up, I shivered. I looked down to the streets below, it was dark now and the road was darkened since there was no electricity running through the city anymore. Means no heat. Damn... I stood up and started to walk away from the window towards the far wall. At least the wind wouldn't blow on me from over there. Suddenly I was knocked down and a strong arm wrapped around my neck hard. I struggled to get free but the man's grip was too strong. I pushed to the ground on my knees after my futile attempts to get free, the man was obviously annoyed with my pathetic attempts. I just grunted accepted the slight defeat. Here's another person to add to the "must get revenge" list. "Well, well," he said in a low voice. "Looks like I missed one. Thought you could get away little one?" "I'm not little so don't call me little!" I bit back, but that was a complete lie right there. I was little, at least 5ft and 3inches, most other girls who are even younger then I are almost 6ft. I don't think its fair. His arm tightened around neck slightly. "Don't talk back to me. You'll learn though. One should not talk back to their masters." "I ain't nobody's master buddy! So if you're looking for a slave go some where else cause I'll just give you a butt load of trouble!!!" I was getting really pissed at this guy. Although the better part of my mind, which rarely shows, kept saying don't piss him off and keep your trap shut! But do I listen? Noooooooo. "humph. You got guts girl, but that's not enough to keep your freedom." Suddenly he let loose on my neck and stood back. I quickly stood up and turned to face him. Meeting his black eyes I started back at him icily with my cloudy blue ones. "Let's see how much spirit you got girl." "And what the hell is that suppose to mean? If you think I'm going to do what you say then -" He cut me off with a laugh. I growled slightly at him for laughing at me. "You have enough spirit without the need to prove it." He continued to laugh. I was taken aback by what said though, should I be flattered or insulted? Should I hit or run? Those were the main thoughts going through my head. " You're coming with me," he said suddenly after his laughing ceased. "Over my dead body mister!" I yelled at him. He didn't seem very phased at my yelling and disobedient to his demands, but that wasn't going to stop me from getting past him and out the door. Speaking of which, how did he get up here when the window was the only other way in? He reached to grab me again but I dodged towards where the door was. Using my index finger to pull down my right bottom eyelid and sticking my tongue out at him, giving him a proper raspberry and making a 'blehhhhhh' sound, I bolted out of the door, hearing him say "why you little-" I didn't get very far down the stairs. Some how he got there in front of me, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed and his tail twitching near his heals. "Next time you want to make a fool of yourself and get caught again why don't you keep your tongue in next time..." he said in a cold tone. I've obviously pissed him off or really annoyed him to now extent. That' s never a good thing when the person is a lot stronger then you. Next thing I knew was being knocked out by his swinging hand, then blackness. I groaned as I gained consciousness again. I wasn't sure where I was but I did know that someone was carrying me by my waist, having my head, arms, and legs dangle. I looked down, and nearly freaked. Why the hell do I see the ground flying past me? I then looked up to see the guy that knocked me out. He flies?! So that's how he was able to get into that room. Duh, Nellie. He's an alien, aliens do impossible things� But why wasn't I very comfortable with the idea that I was OFF the ground and IN the air. "It's about time that you woke up, this isn't a sleep-in flight," he said, noticing that I was awake. "Well then I guess the ground must be the in-flight movie if it was!" I snapped back. HE just humphed at the little snap and looked ahead again. I watched him while I was hanging around, waiting to get where ever we're going. His spiky black hair was being blown every where by the passing wind, there was so much of it around his head that it nearly drooped into his eyes. His thick eyebrows were furrowed as if he was angry at something all the time, most likely was. His tail happened to have been wrapped around his waist, just above his plastic looking armor. He was actually quite handsome, and now that I got a better look at him I now realize that he's no older then me. Just acts like it, or at least tries too. It wasn't long till we reached the crash area where the thing landed. It had happened to have been a ship, a very big ship. Man, Saiyajin must really like destroying things if they build ships that land like meteors. He swooped down for a landing at the bottom of the crater. Not dropping me he just continued to walk up the ship ramp, nodding to all the other Saiyajin there. He must be of some high authority since every seems to be quite respectful to him, except for me that is. I'm not respectful to anybody that I don't like. He turned many corners, it seemed like a maze here. In a way I was glad I was being carried all over the place, I was afraid of getting lost in this alien invested ship. Soon, we came to a room with sliding doors. Inside, he dropped me to the ground and stepped away to another Saiyajin that had been in the room. This one, looking almost like my rude tour guide, had an upsweep of hair like a flame and a defined window's peek. Needs a hair cut, big time. He's short too. "So this is the last one?" said the short Saiyajin. "Yes. Found her in one of the buildings, don't know how she got away." "Well that's good. Now we can leave this stinking plant and go back home. You can deal with this one on your own, the cells are filled. SO go on and go. I have work to do and the king must know that we're returning." I glowered at the two Saiyajin at the insult about my planet and the fact that they find me as something to just toss around. "This ones got some spirit in her," said the first Saiyajin. "Just like those others we found, eh?" "Just shut up and go already. I told you I have work." The first just rolled his eyes at the shorter one with a slight smirk on his face. He turned again towards me and picked me up by the waist, this time me giving him a bit more of a struggle then last. He walked through another hallway. I just decided hanging was my best option at the very moment. Although, I had to move my legs and arms to the side a few times cause I didn't want to bump them into anything. The Saiyajin soon came to a door, that also slid open like that last. Man, these sliding could come in handy, no locks. After he stepped into the room he turned back to the door after it closed, there was a little computer pad next to the door. He pressed a few buttons and then a click could be heard from the door. Damn, it does have locks. He dropped me on the floor in front of the door and started to walk across the room. I sat and glowered at him, my hair tousled to where it was a mess of curls in front of my face. I looked like I went through some type of wind storm. "Don't just sit there on the floor like an idiot," he said, snarling. Why snarling? He's always snarling. What is sooooooo bad about smiling? "You can at least stand up and be decent." I stood, using my hand to brush my wild curls out of my face. "Well? What do you think I'm going to be doing here? Play Cinderella? I do not think so!" He just humphed again. I don't think he understood the Cinderella part. "What you will do is just stay put. These are my quarters, so don't try anything." He walked to a table to the far side of the room. There was a small computer on the table. He pressed one of the buttons on it and the screen flashed to life. "And what the hell is that suppose to mean? Don't try anything?" Crossing my arms over my chest and with a snarl on my face, I did a perfect mock of him. "Means, don't touch anything and don't go outside. Since you didn't notice, outside of my quarters the gravity on the ship has been adjusted to my home planet's gravity. 10 times that of your pathetic planet's gravity." "And why, pray-tell, did I not notice?" "Because I had my ki shield around the both of us. It kept you from being crushed by the gravity." "Ki shield? I've heard of ki, but not a ki shield." "Since you know what ki is, then just think of it as a shield that surrounds your body." I just glared at him. So I had no comment! He turned back to his little computer and started to type a few things. I, out of curiosity, started wondering around the room. It wasn't a small room like on would think of a bedroom, but it had two other rooms attached. One was a bathroom, I could see the pool-of-a-tub, and the other was a bedroom, seeing the bed sticking out from the door. That thought didn't comport me, the bedroom and all. I didn't trust this Saiyajin in any sort of fashion. And since he was a guy I'm pretty well sure he'd be tying to get some. If that's what he's thinking the he's got another thing coming! "Would you quiet walking around the room like that!" he shouted at me. "It makes you look nervous." "Well that's because I am!" "And why?" "That's none of your friggin' business." He just snarled again and went back to the computer. Wondering around some more I had found another little table with some chairs. Sitting down I was able to calm myself down a bit, just a bit. I didn't realize I fell asleep till the dreams came. I always hated having dreams but just dealt with them. It's strange though, when I have dreams it almost seems as if I can see the future. Although that is utterly impossible. Isn't it? A few things came true in my dreams before, but when I had realized it I accepted it as d�j� vu or something like that. Although this dream made no since what so ever. I was standing in the dark, ok why in the dark? A small golden light flashed over the horizon, if there was a horizon, it was dark, I could not see. Suddenly an arrow flew right by my face, almost cutting me. Soon a rain of arrows were coming from the sky, they were every where. Then it stopped, just as soon as it came. I looked around me, it was no longer dark. There was light enough to where I could see bodies upon bodies, all dead. The arrows just everywhere. I don't think these people liked being pincushioned, I mean you'd like to have many arrows in them like a pincushion? I looked up above me to see a planet, I'm sure it was a planet. It was red and had masses of clouds swirling around it. I could see the flashing gold light above the planet. It flew down to the planet and into its atmosphere. Then I was blinded again by the huge explosion that was created by the planet as it came in contact with the light. Thousands of chunks of the planet were being slung every where. Then I saw darkness again, why does it have to be dark!? I woke with a gasp, as I usually do after dreams. "I see you finally woke up. You like sleeping or something?" came a voice from behind me. I turned to see the Saiyajin leaning on the other table, his tail twitching at his feet. "Well I had nothing else better to do. It's not like I want to just stand and stare at you all day." He snarled again. "Do you even know what respect is?" "Yes I do. But I don't give respect to people that I hate," I said nonchalantly, a sweet smile on my face. He bristled at that, I could see that tail of his poof out like...like...a...um...poofy thing. "Oh by the way," I said before he could get anything out. "I didn't catch your name since our�first meeting." I snarled at the words I chose for when we first met. "Why would you care what my name is?" He is going to be difficult I see. Ok, fine, let's play it your way. You be difficult and I'll be rude as hell. "Because. When we DO get into arguments I want to know your name so I can be sure to really make good name calls." Oh course that was a very very corny reason. "My name is Renkon." "Renkon huh? Weird name." "You're the one to talk. And what might your name be, hmm?" "Nellie." "Nellie? And you say my name is weird? Humph." "I don't care what you think of my name. I like it so that's good enough for me." "And why do you like it?" "Because it's weird." "huh?" That face of his was priceless. His jaw was slightly slack and his eyebrows were arching slightly. "Unique I should say. No one else I know has my name, spelled the same way. I like -ie's." "You're weird." "Thank you." And that started the little war between us. Renkon would be a force to reckon with and I never go down with out a fight. And I'm sure neither does he. For now, I was alone. Even if Renkon was around, he was nothing but an annoyance. But what I didn't realize the danger I could put myself in with my attitude.
