Chapter 3
Day 5
The adventurers, travelling along with a new companion made fair time on their way back to the village of Erminet.  About noon that day they found themselves waylaid by a band of Orc thugs, led by a Half-Orc female.

The elaborate trap involved a staged site for the ambush.  Very quickly, the bard found herself dismounted and injured laying not far from the badly wounded cleric, Botome.
Quickly, the druid distracted the pack or Orcs while Culm found himself head to head with the Half Orc leader.  While the Half Orc was injured by a very lucky druid, he found her to be especially cagey, and tough.  The Barbarian Culm's massive Axe splipped from his grasp only to smite the recovering bard Fionna.
In the confusion, the Orc band escaped to ambush another day.
The team regrouped and took possession of the trap cart used by the Orcs in the ambush.  But it was obvious that the team were the first victims, as there was not treasure to be found.
And onward they limped through the night back to town.

Day 6
The adventurers neared town and found the travelling easy.  By evening they found themselves in town adn ready to complete the task.  Culm drowned his woes in a several flagons of Grog and Ale.  Embittered to hisself after judgeing his own performance.  The Druid joined him to dine and drink, though, but knew the plight of this soul having witnessed his missteps.

Fionna the Bard returned to the Chapel and spoke with the Cleric Mistress.  She returned the mage's spell book they found at Gwysol's tower, and sneakily connived her way into the extra cash bargained for.  She was also queried by the Cleric as to the events during the journey.  Without lying she deceptivly ducked and dodged the more pointed questions with relative ease.

Botome had joined her to the chapel and took his direction from the lady Cleric and soon departed town.  The body of the badly burned apprentice was laid to rest, as he died soon after the departure of the adventuresome trio.

Fionna returned to the Inn of the Flying Ass Hat where they divided the gold and assisted the stumbling Barbarian to bed.  After he was tucked away, Winnie and Fionna discussed their adventure over a glass of Elven wine.  They also discussed the daggers which they bargined with each other for.  Neither really knowing the purpose or power behind the odd weapons.

Day 7 thru 11
The three of our young heroes found solace in the quiet of town, where they relaxed after their trip.  The barbarian and druid, though not completely comfortable with towns, did manage to suffer through the week.  Both of them learned much and gained power... while the bard spent her time entertaining others for an extra sum of cash.

Day 12
Alexi the young acolye from The Chapel of St. Cuthbert summoned the young heroes to the presence of this lady ship.  The bard entered the Chapel to find a nearly irate Cleric.  It appeared that rumor had found its way to her that the three of them were some how responsible.  The three were all quite ready to get back on the road.

And so they bought horses and began their trek out of town, northward to discover the source of these rumors, but on their own accord.... Not at the bidding of the church or state,

Day 14
After an uneventful trip northward, the young adventurers found themselves being surrounded after nightfall.  With Kobolds on one side, and Goblins on the other, they continued walking up the road to Gwysol's tower, and humanoids on both sides of the road moved with them.  Using the powers of trickery, deciet and the wiles of their nature they deceived the two different races into physical combat with EACH OTHER!
See the Map!

Day 15
With out sleep they continued on leaving the battle well behind them.  Within a short time, they found themselves in the Now burned out husk of Gwysol's tower.  Cautiously they cleared the rooms, finding some small treasures, and a store room.  Within that store room they found a strange creature beyond their imagination.  A creature they had only heard of in fairy tales.  A PERYTON!

The beast attacked Culm fiercly singlemindedly aiming to tear the barbarians heart out.  Winnie the Druid used the most powerful spell she had ever cast to burn the feathers of the vicious beast while it bore down on the Barbarian.  Fionna's efforts to distract the beast failed.  And yet the Barbarian rose to this, the greatest challenge he ever met.  In a fury he gave a single blow and split the vile beast nearly in half.  The women were so overcome by his power, they swooned and fainted dead away to the ground.

After they recovered, the three set up a camp and scheduled their watch for the remaineder of the night.

Meanwhile, in the distance to the East and to the West, Warfires burned bright, their orange glow and umber smoke hovered over the trees.

Where will our three fine hearoes find themselves when the morning comes?

Will they continue on to the North through the pass?

Will they search for their acquaintence Botome?

Will they hunt down the Cudgel of St. Cuthbert and the Drake injured nearly two weeks ago by Botome's caravan?

Or will they try to prevent a war they might have had a hand in creating?

Of will they make their own way, in this very ugly world.
