Beginners guide to helbreath

Here is a complete handy guide if you are new to Helbreath.

Note: 90% of players mess up their first character due to stat problems, once you realize your stats are wrong, restart your character right away. You may think that you're a high level, but unless you're over level 80, i suggest you restart your character if your stats are wrong.

1. Registered your name, do so by clicking the New User button, which will take you to the Helbreath site to register.

2. Click the Login button so we can begin the tutorial.

3. Another screen should pop up. This screen chooses which server you wish to go to throughout the game.
Abaddon Server: The older server, has many more players and competition, but server is sometimes more laggy, and crowded.
Apocalypse Server: The new server, has much less players, and people are lower level. Server can still be laggy, but not as crowded.

4. Another screen should also pop up after clicking which server you want. It is here where you type your user name and password. Click connect.

5.Click on Create Character.
1.Type the name of your character in which you want to be seen in the game itself
2.Choose gender - Affects what armors you can wear.
3.Choose skin colour - Can be changed in game by potions.
4.Choose hair style - Can be changed ingame by potions.
5.Choose hair colour - Can be changed in game by potions.
6.Choose underwear color. - Can be changed ingame by potions.
(Click the arrows to change them around to what you prefer.)

6. Under that you will see another list of six different attributes. They are Strength, Vitality, Dexterity, Intelligence, Magic, and Charisma.
1.As STR (Strength) is increased, your character's maximum HP (Health) and maximum Stamina increases. You may also equip heavier weapons and bigger shields with more STR.
2.As VIT (Vitality) is increased, the maximum HP greatly increases along with the physical absorption of your character (Slightly Increases).
3.As DEX (Dexterity) is increased, evasion from physical hits (defense ratio) and hit probability also increases.
4.As INT (Intelligence) is increased more magic can be learned, as well as your casting probability and maximum MP increased.
5.As MAG (Magic) is increased, magical resistance and damage increases as well as maximum mana and mana recovery.
6.As CHR (Charisma) is increased to 20, you can form a guild. More CHR also makes the costs of items decrease. (This information is also located in the game).

7.There are three buttons at the bottom one for Warrior, one for a Mage, and one for a Master. Each one will set your attributes to a different setting. It is also harder to level up a mage more than it is a warrior so think about that before you decide on what you want to be. A Master is just a guild master which you probably would not want to be for now. Click which one u want and click Create.

8. At the next page there are a few more options in case you want to delete your character (Characters over level 50 cannot be deleted), log out, or change your password. Now if your woman/man isn't highlighted in the first top-left box in gold, click it. If it is click it again or click start.

[You're now at the Traveler's section of the game. You may either choose to stay there and look around, to kill slimes and other things, or you may choose to go to Elvine or Aresden. There isn't much of a difference where you choose to go at all.] 9. The first couple of things that will pop up will be a helpers guide, level-up settings, and all the brief description of the current game. You may close the brief description and set your level-up setting to whatever you'd like.
Putting 3 points on a stat means that when you level up, you will gain 3 points on that stat. You can spread out your points between many stats.
If you're a mage, you will probably want more INT and MAG first. If you're a warrior, you'll want more DEX, VIT, and STR. You get to choose three only so choose wisely. (Later on, whenever you choose you can change these settings also.)

10. You'll also need to know what all the bottom buttons do. Order from right to left.

1. The first button is your attack or peace mode button. There's 3 modes to this button.
-Peace mode (No color): You can't attackk in this mode, but you can initiate the trading screen with others.
-Attack mode (Red): You can attack enemiies as well as other players in this mode. Press tab to toggle it on/off.(Ctrl+left click to swing at players, you can't hurt your townsman in town or in the farm)
-Safe Attack Mode (Yellow): You can attaack all enemies, but safe mode ensures that even when you hit your townsman, you don't hurt them. This mode takes more mana if you're casting a spell, but is free if you're using a weapon. (All warriors should have this on forever). Press 'Home' to toggle it on or off.

2. Character Screen button. Click it, it shows you what your stats are throughout the game. There are many things inside that screen:

-Level-Up Settings button is to change your lvl settings like before.
-Party button allows you to join someonee to get more experience together working as a team.
Some people will ask you to party and if you want you can go ahead and use that to do so.
-Quest button allows you to see the quesst you're on, you can obtain quests by talking to the City Hall Officer.

3. Inventory. When you click on it the bag will pop up and you'll see a pile of stuff. To move the stuff around, click and hold your left mouse down and move it to another part of the bag. Do this until you get to your dagger. Double click your dagger to hold it in your hand to attack with it. Click and drag your items onto the ground to drop them. Double click on your map to look around. There are two buttons under your inventory, Upgrade and Manufacturing. The upgrade button is used to upgrade things (Find out in the FAQ section), and the Manufacturing button will train your Manufacturing Skill.

4. Spellbook. This is mostly used for mages but some warriors can also learn a little bit of magic. There you'll find a list of all your spells under organized under 'circles'. Also, there is a little button named Alchemy. This button is used for potion making.

5. Skillchart. This button shows all your skills with everything you have. A few skills you'll have to use straight from there others not (Like Pretend Corpse). The little arrows beside the skill titles go down if you click on them. The point of this is that because the maximum amount of skills you have can only add up to 700%, once you have reached 700%, if you kept learning new skills, the skill with the arrow pointing down will start to diminish.

6. Message Log. There you can scroll up to find something that you might have missed when somebody said something.

7. Save button. There are many options here:
-Tells you what server you're on.
-Tells you the date and the time.
-Sets your detail settings, low for miniimum screen lag (You won't see shadows, colors or trees), Medium and High are about the same.
-Turns your sound/music on or off.
-Lets you logout.
-Lets you restart when you die.

11. Now if you'll look to the left, you see 2 bars, red and blue, and a green one in the middle.
This is your Health Bar. If you run out of health, you die.
This is your Mana Bar.

This is your Stamina Bar. If you run out of stamina, you won't be aboue to broadcast messages, or run. (Hold down shift or lock with ctrl+r to run)

That's about all folks. The next thing you should do is read the help, which is done by pressing F1 or if you left it open click around and read what it says. You'll be a great Warrior, Mage, or Battle Mage in due times my friends. In due time. :) And remember that the best place to lvl up is at the barracks in Elvine or Aresden.
