Earthly life

In opposition to what many people assert, it is not self-evident that this life is the only one. At least if you believe what is written about it in the Bible. The church meetings in Nicaea the years of 325 and 787, that edited the text to get a uniform faith, overlooked the verses below, that imply the above mentioned fact

Now as Jesus passed by, he saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" Jesus answered: "Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him".
John 9:1-3.

The disciples seemed to assume that the man could have committed sins earlier, and that he could have been born blind as a result of this. Jesus did not correct this apparent absurdity. Instead he answered that no one of them had committed any sin.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Rom 3:23.

"All" includes babies. Notice the agreement with the first Bible quotation.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom. 5:8.

What I got from God, I got 2000 years ago. You can not be given anything if you don't exist. Thus I lived and was a sinner 2000 years ago. I can not have been living in heaven, because in heaven there are no sinners.

And you will hear of wars and and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Matt 24:6.

Jesus addressed these words to listeners who lived 2000 years ago. They seem to be though, (and are often quoted as) addressed to us who are living now, since they seem to be about the present time (the 21st century). The Bible is the word of God and God does not try to be difficult to understand. The quotation above can only be interpreted in one way, namely that some of the listeners are among us who are living today.

Now it came to pass, about eight days after these sayings, that He took Peter, John and James and went up on the mountain to pray. As he prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and his robe became white and glistening. And behold, two men talked with Him, who were Moses and Elijah.
Luke 9:28-30.

In this quotation from the bible it is stated that Moses and Elijah were talking with Jesus. The event is also mentioned in Matt 17:1-3 and Mark 9:1-4. The conversation was taking place a long time after Moses and Elijah were living on earth. It seems not plausible though that only Moses and Elijah would be granted to live after their physical death.

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so. Amen.
Rev 1:7.

"Even they who pierced Him", is referring to the Roman soldiers mentioned in Matt 27:29 and John 19:34. Thus they were living about 1970 years ago. The quotations from the Bible above seem to imply that one might have been living several lives on earth. I am aware of that this conception is opposed to the usual, "religious" one. The important thing in the connection is that it is in agreement with what God's word is saying. Nowhere in the Bible is there anything contradicting this. The following verses from the Bible are said to be calling attention to the opposite. Religious representatives usually answer to this: "No, it cannot be like that, John 9:1-3 is alluding to inherited sin from the first people, Adam and Eve, eating the fruit of the tree in the midst of the garden." The words "inherited sin" cannot be found in the Bible, though. Furthermore, Ezekiel 18:19-20 and 2 Chron 25:4 are indicating the opposite.

Yet you say, "Why should the son not bear the guilt of the father?" Because the son has done what is lawful and right, and has kept all My statutes and observed them, he shall surely live.
Ezek 18:19-20

However he did not execute their children, but did as it is written in the law in the Book of Moses, where the Lord commanded, saying, "The fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall the children be put to death for their fathers, but a person shall die for his own sin."
2 Chron 25:4
