Dimensions

The four universal magnitudes

The magnitudes that the universe consists of are energy, matter, time, and space. A well-known fact is that energy and matter are transferable into each other. This occurs by fission (splitting of heavy atomic nuclei), which occurs at bursting of nuclear weapons and in a nuclear reactor, and by fusion (uniting of light atomic nuclei), which occurs in the sun and in the stars. Albert Einstein has proved that the connection between energy and matter can be expressed with the formula e = m * c², where e stands for energy, m for matter, and c for the speed of light. If you want to, you can try to derive the formula, or at least check that the units on both sides the equals sign correspond.
A not as well-known fact is that time and space (actually length, since the room in our perception has go three dimensions) are transferable into each other with a similar expression. Though, it differs from the former for one thing because the speed of light is not squared in it. The formula should be l = t * c, where l stands for length, t for time and c for the speed of light. I cannot prove the formula, but everyone can certify that the units on both sides of the equals sign correspond if the length is expressed in meters, the time in seconds, and the speed of light in meters per second.

Is the universe finite or infinite?

The answer is that it is both. You should not imagine that the universe, with its innumerable galaxies is like a cloud surrounded by an infinite empty space. It is not like that. Universe has a certain size, but there is no empty space outside it. Anywhere you are travelling, you will always return to where you started. This is explainable mathemathically, but can not be made clear in words or pictures. We are living in a four-dimensional room-time continuum. "Dimension" is the same as "extension". We are counting the extension of our universe in length, width, height, and time. No one can imagine any further kind of extension. In what direction? How? But mathemathically you can work with more dimensions and the physicists who work with elementary particles are counting with as much as eleven dimensions. Universe is curved in a fourth length dimension, due to its gravitation, in the same way that the surface of the earth is curved in its third length dimension, also due to its gravitation. It is a well-known fact that the earth is round. Its surface is thus not infinite, though it does not have a beginning nor an end. If you travel along the surface of the earth in any direction, you will finally return to the same point. Then you have travelled one turn around the earth. In the same way, if you travel in space in any direction you will (theoretically) return to the same point again.

Dreams that come true

The time can be regarded as a dimension, equivalent to a length dimension, according to the previous reasoning. That can be made clear with the following example. When you are sleeping, in the state of dreaming you can experience incidents that you either have gone through earlier but also those that you will go through later when you are awake, "dreams that come true". This can be regarded that you move along the usual axis of time and take excursions along a time axis right angled to the usual. Then you can look forwards or backwards along the usual axis of time and experience incidents, which are situated either before or behind yourself in time.

Further development with references to the bible

You should not suffice, though, with establishing that there are probably more dimensions than the three we can image, the time dimension not counted. You can make another intellectual experiment. Imagine the time as a room dimension and a man consisting of only two dimensions. Such a two-dimensional man, who is travelling forwards regarding to time, cannot be regarded as a three-dimensional being. He does not have any extension in time, but would be a specimen in a plan, which is travelling along the time axis, unlike God, the Father, who also has extension in the time dimension. Consider the following quotation from the bible.

17. So the Lord said to Moses: "I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name."
18. And he said, "Please show me Your glory."
19. Then He said, "I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."
20. But He said, "You cannot see my face; for no man shall see Me, and live"
21. And the Lord said, "Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock."
22. "So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and I will cover you with My hand while I pass by."
23. Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen."
Exodus 33 : 17 - 23

Verse 20 says that no one is able to see the Lord and live. This does not imply that you as a penalty for peeping at the face of the Lord should be punished with death. It means that no living man, who is only able to see three-dimensional objects, actually is able to see the face of the Lord. He obviously has more dimensions than the three we can imagine. Among other things, He also has got extension in time. This is the reason for the answer when Moses asked for his name, according to the quotation below from the bible.

13. Then Moses said to God, "Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, "The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me 'What is His name?' what shall I say to them?"
14. And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"
Exodus 3 : 13 - 14

Jesus is the Son of God, the Father, in a way that not many have realised. Consider the following quotation from the bible.

7. "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him."
8. Philip said to Him, "Lord show us the Father and it is sufficient for us."
9. Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, 'Show us the Father'?"
10. "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works."
John 14 : 7 - 10

Conclusions

A square is the simplest two-dimensional projection of a cube. A circle, or a square, is a two-dimensional projection of a sphere, depending on in which direction you project it. What Jesus said maybe seems cryptic if you don't realise the following. Jesus is the three-dimensional projection of the Father, who consists of all imaginable, or to us rather unimaginable, dimensions. How many dimensions are there, then? You can only speculate about it. Though, persons who have "died" during operations and have had their consciousness moved somewhere else, when they have been brought back to life, have told that there are many more dimensions than three. My assumption is that there are twelve dimensions in the universe, since twelve is God's perfect number.

The above can also be an explanation of the statement that Jesus is the Son of God, the Father. Muslims consider the statement that God has got a Son, should imply that God should have had sexual intercourse with a woman, a blasphemous statement. But this is founded on a misunderstanding.
