I am also a 29 year old, single father of four absolutely adorable daughters who I love with all my heart. Their names are Riley, Jaylyn, Piper, and Aliyah. They are, in the above order, 8, 6, 4, and 2. They are each a special blessing in my life and in the lives of everyone they meet. I am constantly amazed at the depth and resiliency of their love. I could not be more proud or thankful to have them.
UPDATE: I am now 30 and remarried to the most understanding, loving, supportive and wonderful woman I have ever known. She is made of the same stuff as my grandmothers which makes her almost perfect. She is truly a daily blessing from God in my life. I am also now the father of 8 children, and each one of them are truly amazing children. I know it sounds insane to have eight kids, but these kids all make it so easy and usually enjoyable. The additions to the above listed children are Jenifer, John, Marina and Jo. They are 17, 15, 11, and 8 respectively.
As for the more mundane stuff of life, I enjoy mountain biking when I can. Roller blading is also something I enjoy. At least when I can keep from falling down! During the summer I usually spend at least a couple weeks at my family's place at Lake Texhoma. The kids and I both love going to the lake and taking the pontoon boat out for a day of swimming and relaxing. We attend church at the Landing Community Church in Bixby, OK. (We live in Jenks) BTW, if you are reading this and what to get hooked into a church that is full of love and compassion come and see us. We'll even give you free coffee to make sure you're awake for the service! Actually we have an awesome praise and worship so you probably won't need the coffee! :-) I work for a pipeline company and am very happy in my profession.
A little more about me...I was born in New Mexico. My father is an amazing man and I have him to thank for just about every good trait I have. He taught me to work hard, an honest day's work to earn an honest dollar, and to conduct myself with integrity and trustworthiness. He also gave me a shining example of what Christian manliness is all about. My dad is still a daily part of my life and I depend on his advice and wisdom now more than ever. My natural mother died when I was pretty young. She had a brain tumor and I don't have any real memories of her. The ones I do have are not pretty as she was very sick for most of them. I struggled with the emotional turmoil of her sickness and death for many years. Thankfully God healed that part of me, although I still wonder sometimes what it would have been like to know her more. In heaven, I will know her one day. There is a good side to the story though. Even when I didn't understand or appreciate what God was giving me, He was faithful to me and provided the most wonderful mother I could have. I know she is my step mother but she has been there since I was little and has loved me and cried over me and prayed ceaselessly for me for many years. She truly is my mother and I am extremely thankful for her influence in my life. We have become very good friends over the last couple of years, and I treasure that more than words can tell. I also have two sets (still living) of grandparents who embody the very essence of everything I could ever wish to be in this life here on earth. I am so thankful they are healthy and that my children are getting to know them. In short, I believe I have been blessed with the absolute best, most loving and supportive family any person could ever dream for or hope to have.
What else? Trivia tidbits - I wrestled for most of my life. I also played baseball for quite a while, a few years of basketball and a few years of football. I have, at one time or another, played just about every sport there is except hockey and lacrosse. My best, or at least most noticed, feature is probably my eyes. They are a very deep blue. I am usually asked if I wear colored contacts! LOL I don't, by the way. Pretty much I am just a normal guy trying to make the best of my life with the cards I have been dealt, and although it may not always be a royal flush I have been blessed and my God watches out for me very well.
