| Nadia's Cabbage Crunch (I don't know who Nadia is; I got the recipe from Julie) cabbage-4-5 cups, chopped green onions-4-5, chopped slivered almonds-1/2 cup, toasted sesame seeds-3 tablespoons, toasted chicken flavor ramen noodles-1 package salt-1/4 teaspoon pepper-1/2 teaspoon white vinegar-3 tablespoons (you can use balsamic if you like) vegetable oil-1/3 cup sugar-2 tablespoons Mix cabbage and onions. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Toast almonds and sesame seeds for 10-15 minutes (or until slightly browned) at 350 degrees (in my oven, it only takes about 5 minutes). Crush the ramen noodles while still in the package. Mix the seasoning packet from the ramen noodles with the salt, pepper, vinegar, oil, and sugar. When ready to serve, add the dressing, noodles, almonds, and sesame seeds to the cabbage/onion mixture. Toss. |
