| Modernized Apple Stack Cake Filling/Topping: 1 lb. dried apples 1 c. light brown sugar 2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp. ground cloves 1/4 tsp. ground allspice Put apples in just enough water to cover (put them in a big pot - those suckers expand!); cook until soft; mash thoroughly (or not so thoroughly). Stir in sugar and spices. Cool before spreading between layers. Cake: Any box cake of your preference. I used butter flavor. |
