Cake Terms and Definitions
Buttercream Icing :                                               Soft, creamy, buttery, icing commonly used for cakes.


Royal Icing :                                                        Very sweet icing, dries candy hard. Used for certain                                                                                       flowers,string work,cookies, and gingerbread houses.


Rolled Fondant Icing :                                           Rich flavor, rolled out icing, used to cover cake.
                                                                          Covers the cake with a perfectly smooth satiny iced surface.


Gumpaste Icing :                                                  Sweet pliable sugar mixture, used to make flowers
                                                                          and other decorations, dries hard.
