| My first experience with cake decorating was in 1994. I like to refer to cake decorating as " Confectionary Art" I have always had a love of arts, and enjoyed expressing myself through cake decorating. The first cake I created was for my daughter's first birthday. After discovering my passion, I decided to pursue cake decorating lessons at a local bakery, and was hired after my first lesson. I worked for the bakery for a short time, and decided to establish Custom Cakes by Heidi Waple. I have been cake decorating professionally since 1996. I have been a member of the International Cake Decorating Society since 2000, and in 2001 I was elected Alternate Representative of the Pennsylvania Chapter of ICES. Through ICES I began attending cake shows and competitions. I have competed professionally, and have won First place awards in professional Wedding cakes, professional Novelty cakes, and professional Airbrushed cakes catagories. My cakes have also been pictured in American Cake Decorating Magazine, On the cover of Mailbox News Cake Decorating Magazine, and in the ICES international newsletter. They have also been featured on the ICES and Wilton websites. I currently live in Middletown Pennsylvania, with my husband Brian and my children, Molly, Aubrey, and D.J. When I am not cake decorating, I enjoy creating art, writing, gardening, and spending time with my family. |
