First, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I will try to do a formal card (via email) with a picture but not till we get all set up. So on with this update: It has been a while since our last update. It has been quite a saga for the last 3 weeks. We have moved from our first hotel in Fribourg to another hotel in Montreaux (to be close to the boys school) and that is where our saga begins.
With a promise of one week in the Montreaux hotel we were antisipating the move to our new apartment. With one days away, we were told that the apartment would not be ready and we needed to cancel the furniture delivery and extend our stay in the hotel. Which at first seemed quant and charming but turned out to be nothing but OLD!!!. Oh the fuinny stories about this hotel are best left for another post. I have to say the staff was so nice and sweet that it was hard to be anoyed but... Really, what was the travel agent thinking booking a family of four in a hotel suit without a kitchenette or a hotel that had an open dinning room. Yep, no roomservice or restraunt for the winter!!!! So, after the delivery was barely delayed, poor guys had to remove all our furniture from the truck. I had to extend our stay for another week.
OH YEAH RIGHT!!! Hotel was closing for the Christmas Holiday. HELP!!! To make matters worse that very same day, after trying for two weeks to contact the shipping companny and them not returning our calls, we find out that our boxes from San Diego have not left LA!!!!! They have been sitting there for 6 weeks!!!!. We almost lost it. Peter was planing on a quick get away to the US. Not to mention that all the boys Christmas presents were on the boxes and they said we could get them by the 21st of JANUARY!! I think what made the situation so inexcusable is that they demanded payment 4 weeks eairler and they knew, very well, that the boxes hadn't even reached the East Coast yet. Pretty slimmy if you ask me.
So, not trusting another travel agent to stick us into a dive, I took it into my own hands, with Peter's full support, to find us a nice hotel. The search was on, trying to be modest but still looking for comfort (something we had sorly been without for the past few weeks.) Well, guess what, half the hotels where closed for the Holiday and the other half were booked because of the Marche de Noel. We were homeless in less than two days. So we threw in the towel!! I booked a suit at the Montreaux Palace, beautiful, 5 star luxury hotel and billed it to the builder for being so late, Maxwells idea, but a good one!
So, we have a home for another week and Maxwell is coming to the rescue and handeling our boxes for us. The Director of Shipping got ahold of the Shipping company and told them to get it on a plane by the next day. Deep Breaths!!!!! We are living in total luxury, really nice, full spa, beautiful pool, exersize facilities and more... First class all the way. You would think we had died and gone to heaven....
But wait..... So Tuesday comes, the day beforethe new move in date, and we go to take the keys... The Apartment is not done!!!! Furniture is coming the next day and so are the boxes from the State!!! So we are delayed, yet again, till this Friday. The furniture came today on Wednesday and they had to put it into one of the unfinished flats. They will have to come back on Friday to move it up the other 3 floors, by hand because, yes you guessed it, the lift isn't finished yet either, laughing yet????
Oh but the boxes from the States came, right? WRONG!!!!!!! They aren't even on a plane yet. I sware these people are going to pay!!! I'm not sure what yet, but it will be something, mark my words!!! So now we are told by Friday. We are staying at the Palace for another three nights, could be worse, LOL. We still haven't had time to buy beds for the boys, and they aren't sleeping with me, LOL. Hey but we have roomservice here.
Let's see, anything else... Leo loves it here, spends too much time in restaraunts. He met a girl pomerian and I think it's love, she is cute, I must say, and her name is "Easy". If that doesn't say it all. I think Leo has had the easiest time of all of us. I guess that what they mean by "a dogs life"...
I'm sure the Saga will continue but hopefully better then the past few weeks.
