Sexuality becomes more relevant to cultural expression and practices rather
than a biological category.

The issues about sexuality are blended with cultural products and
delivered to every corner of the world through a wide variety of media
including pornography, internet, movies and even travel or migration.

Sexuality is no longer a personal issue or merely related to intimacy.
Instead, it is also a public issue.

Sex and the City
2.1.
City is an agglomeration of cultural products, symbols and people.
2.2.

The images of city are also perceived by and through these sexualized
representations. People’s
perception might follow the economic hierarchy of world cities.
3.
Sexualities, identity and power
3.1.
People’s identities are defined by their sexual orientations (gay, lesbian, …)
3.2.
The right of sexual expression becomes a new and critical part of human right.
3.3.
The movement for sexual plurality challenges the dominance of heterosexuality.
3.4.
People need to negotiate or re-negotiate the spaces for actualizing their

Sexuality and regulation
4.1.
While sexuality becomes a popular theme in various spheres of life, more
debates about regulation on sex culture and sexual practices appear.
