1.  Spirited mind's world collapses into two.  The first is the world of actual reality, spirited mind's alienation itself.  The other world is the one mindful spirit builds for itself over above the first in the aether of pure consciousness.  ²This world is set opposed to that alienation and for this reason is not free of it.  In fact, it's just the other form of alienation that consists in having its consciousness in two very different worlds, encompassing both.  ³It is thus not the self-consciousness of absolute essence, of the absolute being, as it is in and for itself, not religion we have here, but faith as the flight from the real world and which is thus not in and for itself.  ⁴This flight from the realm of the present is, again, immediately doubled.  ⁵Pure consciousness is the element into which spirited mind raises itself, which is not just the element of faith, but no less the element of the concept.  The two have thus emerged simultaneously together, the former only holding our attention in antithesis to the latter.
