| Time Brings Change Part 3 by Lady Myst Disclaimer: Joss owns all It couldn't be him, she was seeing things. "Spike....is it really..." Dawn couldn't finish, emotions she'd buried long ago came shooting to the surface. Spike was also having a hard time believing the girl in front of him was Dawn. She had certainly grown, and in all the right places. "Yes luv it's me." He was getting all choked up, that was the last thing he wanted, to cry. He was evil he didn't cry. Dawns shock was starting to ware off, with a strangled sob she threw her arms around him and held on for dear life. "God I missed you. I knew you'd come back, I kept telling Angel you would-" Spike held her close, feeling that she had indeed grown in all the right places. "Wait, why were you talking to the poof?" Dawn giggled a little through her tears. "Angel moved back to Sunnydale three years ago. He came to help with the Glory." She stopped knowing that everything else would have to wait. She didn't want to dump it all on him now. Spike pulled back to look in her eyes. "So the slayer couldn't handle her eh?" He was gloating, that bitch had run him out of town, he had loved her and she treated him like dirt on her shoe. Like she had said 'your beneath me' but the truth was she was beneath him. He saw Dawn suddenly get very quite, she looked away from him. "What is it?" She knew she'd have to tell him, he wouldn't give until she did. "Buffy ran away, just after you left town. She left a note saying she couldn't do it anymore. It was bad enough being the slayer but she couldn't be a mom and fight Glory too. So she left" Spike couldn't believe it. Buffy may have hated him, but to leave her own sister to die, that was beyond low. "I'm sorry, I should have been here for you luv." "You couldn't have done much. I'm just glad you're back now." Dawn lied well, at least she thought she did. Spike could have done so much had he been here. He could have listened, made her feel better, told her stories to make her forget real life, held her when she cried, told her the Big Bad would fix it. But he hadn't been here to do that. The only person she could really turn to was Cordelia. She could talk about Spike with her, and Buffy. Two very sore subjects for Angel. Spike knew he could have helped had he been here. Dawn was the only friend he had ever had. No one had liked him when he was alive, and when he was a vampire the closet thing he had to a friend was Dru. Little Dawn and slipped into his heart somewhere along the line. He had never noticed it though, he had been so obsessed with Buffy. Now Dawn was all grown up, and wearing very dark tight clothes. He tried to ignore it. "We should get inside." Dawn looked up at Spike, she knew it was going to be a long night. Angel was gonna flip. "If you're ready to face Angel then so am I." She leaned up and kissed him, it was fleeting, but powerful, for her anyway. Spike followed Dawn, still stunned from her kiss. Was he a pervert? He had been aroused by little Dawnys kiss. But Dawn wasn't little anymore, she was 19, and all grown up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ End part 3 |
