She still missed him, he was her first love, the center of her world. He had been there to listen to her, then he had walked out of her life with an 'I'm sorry pet' and a kiss on the cheek. Now here she was sitting alone in her living room brooding over him. God she was as bad as Angel. So much had changed since he left. Buffy had left town shortly after he did. She hadn't been able to deal with Joyce's death, or the upcoming battle with Glory. Giles had of course followed in hopes of bringing her home. Neither had ever returned. The rest was just to painful to think about. "You're thinking about him again. Dawn you have to let go, he's gone." Dawn looked up to see Angel leaning against the doorway. "I can't. I still miss him." "Why? He was a vicious killer. The only thing stopping him from hurting you was that damn chip." "The chip had nothing to do with it. You didn't see him crying over Buffy. Or trying to act the big bad when he was concerned or hurting. I did." She stopped knowing it was pointless to try and convince Angel, his mind was made up. Angel came into the living room and sat on the couch next to Dawn. "Why can't you see what the rest of us see. He is evil, end of story." Dawn looked up at Angel, unshed tears shining in her eyes. "Maybe I saw what everyone else didn't." The words came out as a whisper but they had more of an impact on him than if she had screamed it. "Dawn I-" "No Angel. I want to be alone for a while." When he didn't move she got up to go upstairs, she turned at the doorway. "You know Angel, for someone so evil he saved me, not just my life, but my soul as well."
