| Title: Dating a blob of energy. (Or Dreams Are Made Of This, p.2) Author: SlayGal Email: [email protected] Summary: This is the sequel to Dreams Are Made Of This. Spike is slowly realising who he loves. Pairing: S/D, kinda. Rating: PG, I guess. Disclaimer: Nope I own nothing :-) Everything belongs to Joss Whedon and his minions :-) Spike lurked outside The Summers home. Just like he had so many times beforetonight it was different though. He wasnt there to watch Buffy. //I love you Dawn// The words continued to haunt him, ever since his dream he couldnt get Dawn out of his head. He hated himself even more for this Buffy was the Slayer, so yeah, to other vampires his love for her was perverted, but this was Dawn, the Slayers little sister he was thinking about. He took another drag on his cigarette and looked up at Dawns window, //Is she in there?// He wondered. There was the sound of the door opening, Ill be fine, just leave me alone! He heard Dawn yell as she left the house, slamming the door quite sufficiently. Spike took an unneeded deep breath and stepped forward, just as Dawn cut across the grass to get to the sidewalk, ending with the two of them colliding. Dawn dropped a load of books she was carrying, they landed sprawled all over the damp lawn. Great! She said sarcastically. She looked up to see who had knocked into her, an icy glare already set on her pretty features. Hello, Nibblet. Spike said, sounding flushed; even he could hear it in his voice. Oh, hey Spike. Dawn said, the glare leaving her face, as she smiled a little. Why are you being Lurk-Guy outside my house again? Am not! He said lamely. Are too standing out here by yourself, spying on my house, and probably my sister, is lurking. She informed him. And when did you become the expert? He asked, regaining a little of his bad boy attitude as he talked to her. Doesnt exactly take one. Dawn said flatly. She looked down at the pile of books and sighed, Spike followed her gaze and then hastily picked them up, handing them back. So, where you headed, little bit? He asked. I have a study date, even though I barely made it out the house with Buffy trying to hold me hostage. She rolled her eyes in the way that always made Spike wanna laugh, she always acted like the BigBad though she had absolutely nothing to back it up with. A date? Huh. Spike said, considering this. Oh, Im sorry, that must be really surprising. Buffys little sister got a date, wow, she actually found someone stupid enough to date a blob of energy!. She said bitterly before shoving past Spike and continuing walking. Spike stood in awe for a few seconds //What the hell was that about?// before jogging to catch her up. Oi, Dawn. He called. Dawn stopped, she couldnt remember the last time Spike had used her real name. She just stood, her back to him as he came up to her. What was that about, luv? He demanded gently as he spun her round to face him. I was just a little surprised that you had a study date, is all. No need to bite my head off, Specially since Im prevented from doing the same. He joked, pointing at his head at the chip he knew was nested in there somewhere. Dawn didnt smile though. Yeah, course you were surprised, whod wanna date the slayers little sis, right? Why would they choose Dawn Summers over Buffy, huh? She stalked off again, rounding a corner. Spike again went after her, Wait up! I wanna talk to you, He said, Well, talk fast cos Im already late. And walk too. She said, not breaking her stride. I didnt mean for it to sound like that, I justI wasforget it. He sighed, dejected, as he continued to walk. Im not surprised that you could get a datebloody look at you, but I dunno, wasnt really expecting it is all. He shrugged. Dawn looked at him, her face softening a bit. Well, this is where he lives, so Dawn stopped outside a large house. Spike eyed it, noting the expensive windows, the classy front door, the Jag parked in the driveway. He rested against a fence and then realised it was a white picket fence. This part is a bloody joke, right? He indicated the fence. Dawn giggled and hit him playfully. Shut up, Spike! Seriously, kid, theres no way any happy family *actually* has a white picket fence! Dawn raised a challenging eyebrow, And how would you know, Mr. I-havent-been-alive-in-over-a-century? Spike stood up, looming over her in the way he always did to intimidate people, except he knew it never actually worked on Dawn. I know a lot more than you give me credit for, nibblet. He growled. Really? Such as? She put her hand on her hips, unconsciously edging closer to him. Like how I know you like to use strawberry shampoo in the shower. He grinned. Dawn looked half mortified, half trying not to laugh. You what? She asked, How? Or do I even want to know? Oh, you want to know, I can feel that a bleedin mile off. He arched a scarred eyebrow, But am I gonna tell you? Thats a different matter. Yes, you are! Tell me! She ordered. Uh, uh, uh, I didnt hear the magic word, and that tone isnt helping, missy. He shook his head in mock-regret. So, what? Youre some major perv or what? I told you I know more than you think I do. He said. Still not helping on the shower sitch, is it? She said, she grabbed his arm, Cmon, Spike, tell me how you know. She flashed him what she hoped was a sweet smile. Please? Spike leaned in and whispered in her ear, I know cos He paused for effect. I can smell it, it lingers on your hair. Dawn relaxed a little, Thats it? You can smell it? So, you havent been spying on me, thats good. Is that disappointment I see? He teased. Dawn grinned and shook him, where she still had hold of his arm. Get over yourself, Spike. She laughed. Ooh, tough guy talk, huh? He began tickling her stomach, Now lets see how tough you are. He smirked. Dawn was laughing and panicking at the same time, she was trying to speak through her fits of laughter, Spike. Stop. It. Right. Now. She giggled. He carried on doing it, a little gentler so she could breath. UhDawn? Came a voice. They both stopped and Spike looked at the guy stood at the door. He wasnt anything special, far as Spike could see. Hey Kevin. She smiled, Spike saw the way this kid was looking at Dawn, he didnt like it. Dawn wasnt the slightest bit embarrassed that Kevin had came out when he did. Hi. You coming in? My parents had to run out, to take my sister to ballet, shall we get started? He indicated the books. //Now shes alone with this wanker?// Spike thought with rage and jealously. Sure. See ya later Spike. She walked up the front steps. Whos that? Kevin asked, thinking Spike wouldnt be able to hear, but with vamp hearing it was hard to miss. Oh, thats nobody. Came Dawns response as they entered the house. //Nobody??// Thought Spike, feeling hurt at Dawns dismissal of him. Buggar this, Im off for a beer. He said out loud as he made his way to the Bronze.
