Title: Darkness Part 1
Author:Heeroluva
E-mail: [email protected]
Rating: PG-13 for now, will more than likely get higher
Spoilers: Through 'The Gift"
Pairing: Spike/Dawn
Summary: Spike leaves Sunnydale the day of Buffy's death after
having made a promise to Dawn and returns over a year later with a few
surprises.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the Buffy characters. Joss does.
Feedback: It's more than welcome. I love hearing what others have to say.
Authors Note: The first chapter is a poem and the rest is a fix. You should
read the poem first and not skip over it because I'm not sure if the being
of the next chapter will make sense if you don't.

Blackness, darkness
It is as if the light is hiding from him.
But even though I can't see him I know he is there.
His presence, his aura, it seems almost tangible.
I can feel the power washing over me like waves on the shore.
The power makes me tremble and shiver.
Not from fear, but a feeling indefinable to me.
I look up for the first time since I have entered the room.
I gasp, but not from repulsion of any other negative reason.
It's from shock, and awe, and mesmorization.
I find myself looking into a pair of eyes,
a pair of eyes that seem to glow with an inner fire,
that blaze with coldness and harden like ice.
I freeze in place for what seems like hours,
but in reality I know it must have been seconds, if that.
We stand, unmoving, staring at one another,
absorbing the feel of the other's presence.
My eyes are the first to move away, breaking the stare,
unwittingly giving into his predatory dominance.
I strain my eyes to see into the darkness,
to see the person who owns the eyes, staring so intently at me,
but I can't even find a place to begin looking for a form.
It seems that the harder I look, the thicker the darkness gets,
like fog moving in from the mountains covering all in it's path,
giving no heed to what it cause and not controlled by any living thing.
But that doesn't seem to be the case.
This being here before me is powerful.
Although I have no understanding of the amount of power he possesses.
He has more power than any being can comprehend,
but it doesn't frighten me in the least,
not even the hovering air of hostility,
a feeling that could bring the strongest of men to their knees.
But still I am standing...
