| Previously, Hedi was teaching at a semi-government matriculation college under MARA (Council of Trust for the Indigenous People) on public speaking / presentation skills and also on writing courses. During her five years of service there, she helped coordinate the English Camp for 40 students, which was conducted every semester at various camping locations. After her contract with MARA ended, she joined the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) as the Manager, Student Services; managing student recruitment, examination matters, road shows, CIMA events and liaising with colleges and other counterparts. Other organizations which Hedi has served include Institute of Training and Development; she was in charge of the corporate training and development programs: conducted and organized training, seminars, conferences, promotional events and exhibitions including ITEX2002, with clientele list that ranges from ExxonMobil, Ministry of Training Mauritius, Colmar Tropicale, and British Petroleum. She was also attached to Educational Trend as an education consultant on a project with the National Unity Department of Malaysia in improving kindergarten teachers teaching skills and language proficiency. Then, Hedi joined Language Works as Network Associate, in charge of marketing, coordinating and conducting training programs. She later joined a local call centre, Zeltrans, as the Training & Customer Service Manager, servicing overseas clients. Whenever time permits, Hedi, too, lectures at local colleges. She has been teaching English and Malay Language including cultural immersion programs for expatriates from America, Arab countries, Persia, Sudan, England, and also Korea. Her translation flair has enabled her to have clients which includes KFC Holdings (Malaysia), MARA, Nokia, Brainmatters, Bank Negara (National Bank), Language Pro (Singapore & China), EQHO (Thailand), Recent Consultancy and Tunku Kurshiah Old Girl Association (Malaysia) ~ HANI project and also attached to translation agencies in Singapore, Thailand, USA, and also UK. Her training and consultancy work has opened up opportunities for her to work with British Petroleum Malaysia, Dong Zong (Chinese Independent School Association), GE Engine Services Malaysia, Guidant Malaysia, Help Institute, Honeywell, Immigration Department of Malaysia (AIMM), Institut Latihan Kehakiman dan Perundangan (ILKAP), INTAN, INSPIN (Kedah), KDU Penang, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), Malaysian Institute of Integrative Media, MARA Education Foundation, Ministry of Commodities and Plantation Industries, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Human Resources, Ministry of Telecommunication, Water and Works, MNI Life Insurance Berhad, Montfort Boys School, National Unity Department, Nestle Malaysia, Petronas, Pos Malaysia, Public Service Department, Road Safety Council (MKJR Kedah), Securities Commission, Suruhanjaya Pembangunan Koperasi Malaysia, Takaful Ikhlas, Taylors College, Telekom Education Foundation, Tesco Malaysia, University College of Sedaya International Cheras, UiTM Penang, Universiti Sains Malaysia, UTAR and also Wings of Creativity (subsidiary of LimKokWing). She was a committee member of KANWORK (Kanser Network) a non-profit organisation that seeks fund to assist victims and survivors of cancer where she heads the Publicity and Public Relations for KANWORK in 2008. |
