Homesteading is an attitude!

Excellent at eating leaves, some brush, some kitchen scraps, some gardening tools, and sometimes the side of your building... there is no doubt that owning Pygmy Goats will give you unending reasons to hang out in the barn.

Pygmies at Play!
Update - Jeff spent several weekends fencing in a new playground for Cappacino, Candy and Trixie - our darling Pygmy Goat girls.  Do you think they appreciate his hard work?  No.  Change to a Pygmy appears to be an unwelcome thing.  Candy screams her displeasure while Trixie and Chino explore their new playground rather reluctantly.  Wait!  What is that?  Oh it is a fallen tree in the woods and look, we can stand on it!  Ok, so maybe a new playground could be a wonderful thing after all.  And all that wonderful vegetation in the woods to nibble on... hmm, maybe things will be fine after all... Jeff completed the new ag-building over Thanksgiving weekend. I am adding an artistic touch by making some simple stained glass windows for the enjoyment of the critters. It's really quite warm and cozy inside. Jeff and I find ourselves spending long periods of time just hanging out in the "barn".  Did I mention our ag-building runs on solar energy?

Next update planned for the first week of November!   Since 1996 we at the hedges homestead have enjoyed the use of AOL for many of our website storage centers... on October 31, 2008 AOL will discontinue online storage capabilities for we pathetic human beings.  I am frantically downloading years of pictures and documents and have no clue what my webpages will look like come Saturday morning...  So please be patient while things are updated and recovered or recreated. - Carlie
