Went to the gay Mardi Gras on the weekend, got my first job...selling rainbow tatoos for charity. .Worked from 2:30 til 10pm in the baking sun for a mesely $35 (12 quid!!). Got to see the parade though, such as the 'dykes on bikes'!!, also lots of good looking men (wrong place, wrong time-i know!;) hahaha!
I'v have been working (yes, working !) on a farm 10 hours north of Sydney in Nundle. We get up at 7am for breakfast than start at 9, easy work like making beds and cooking lunch (dont fall off your chairs, I know its shocking-me cooking ! ) My speciality is chopping carrots, scrubbing potatoes and peeling pumkins ! They love their pumkins here, pumkin soup, pumpkind pie, pumpkin bloody everything !
Byron Bay
Next I went back to humanity for a while to Byron Bay, it was like Cornwall but a million times hotter. Stayed in a really nice apartment (although i had to share a double room with 3 people! ) Was more like Butlins than a hostel ! Went sea kayaking, lucky me I was in a kayak with a seasick guy who kept throwing up over the side ( I dont think his hangover helped either ! ) 3 dolphins came right over to my kayak, I was screaming! They were jumping up in the water it was amazing!
Went to Nimbin next, lets just say the whole town revolved around the old wacky backy, cookies and so on ,it was good though and went to a house in the middleof a forest, crossed a bridge made out of bamboos to get to the most beautiful lake I have ever seen ! Next went to a place called Surfers Paradise which was like miami.
Nimbin and Surfers Paradise
Now I'm off to Brisbane...catch up with you soon.....Cheers Lisa
In true Lisa style i went from one extreme to the other, form living on a farm to living in a PUB! It was in atiny village called Bingara and I went horseriding for a week. Got to know the locals and they took me on their quadbikes!Rode through the stream and up a massive hill to lookout point. Got to the top and my aussie mate decided to tell me the brakes didnt work-argghh!Talk about the wind inyour hair! Went bareback riding on the horses in the river, fell in love with my horsecalled Fatneck,
