Because of Star Wars, science fiction has earned a niche in modern cinema. It also brought special effects into the spotlight. Some say for that reason it is bad. However, where special effects are used to enhance the cinematic experiece, I'd say they are easily as important as the actors in producing an overall success. Special effects have improved in leaps and bounds, largely due to Star Wars' humble beginnings. |
