Altar Setups
Celtic Altar Setup
The celtic altar setup should be used when practicing magick of a celtic origin or when using Gods and Goddesses who are from the celtic pantheon.  Statues depicting or representing the gods you have chosen may be placed on the altar in the upper right (goddess) and upper left (god) corners.  Celtic rituals utilize a sword instead of an athame or knife.  If you do not a have a sword the athame or ritual dagger maybe used in its place.
Traditional Altar Setup
The traditional altar setup can be used for rituals, spell work and other general magickal practices.  Again the sword can be replaced by an athame or ritual dagger.  It can also be used when worshipping any pantheon.  The statue should represent both the god and the goddess you are working with.  If you are working with only a goddess, a statue representing her should go in the statue position.  The same goes for a god.  If you do not have a wand it can be ommited.  However you should seriously consider making one.  The anointing oils may also be ommited if you are not blessing something when you are doing magickal work.  All other elements must remain for a proper altar setup.
