In this class, students gain insight concerning computer exploit methodologies. The goal is to gain the insights necessary to facilitate the reduction of enterprise vulnerabilities. By first understanding the attacker tools and methodologies, security professionals can identify, select, and implement appropriate mitigation controls.
Class activities are augmented with laboratory activities. These 'hands on' activities provide students with the opportunity to apply security principles. Laboratory activities focus on three areas: packet analysis, network and system scanning, and applied cryptography.
