GOODBYE

With heavy hearts; and a tear in our eyes after all these years;
we must say goodbye
Please understand; we've done all we could if there was anything we could do;
you know we would

I'm sitting right here; gently rub your ears while I talk to you softly;
trying to hold back the tears
The memories you gave us; we'll never forget especially the ones;
of the day we all met

One last hug; and one last kiss you have no idea; how much you'll be missed
To look into your eyes; this one last time you tell me it's ok;
you know it's your time

Close your eyes now; and go to sleep we'll pray to the Lord;
you're soul he'll keep
Go in peace now; our good friend we'll stay right here with you;
until the end

Dream of that special day and time when we'll meet at the Bridge;
and all will be fine
We'll run and play; side by side with a soft warm feeling;
deep down inside

Your memory will live on; in each one of us you'll always be number 1;
to all of us
Have a safe journey; through the night I promise when you awake;
you'll be in God's light

So with heavy hearts; and tears in our eyes just for now my friend;
we say goodbye

Poem by: John Quealy

Trixie On August 20, 1996 our home was blessed with a spunky bulldog mix whom we lovingly called TRIXIE.

Right from the start she had us laughing at her perky personality and her love for life. She was the most energetic dog I've ever met . She had many nick names such as, 'BOOGLIT' , 'WOOGA BOOGA' , and 'BONE HEAD'.

By a very young age she had become the best 'ball hockey goaltender' the kids ever had. She kept more goals out than she ever let in!

Trixie loved to travel and really enjoyed her rides on the boat to get to the beach where she would 'dive for rocks' for hours.

When our youngest son Zachery was born she seemed to be overwhelmed with loving him and alerted me when he awoke. Zachery says he doesn't know what he's going to do because he can't remember not ever having Zachery, Kitty, and Trixie her, but is glad that she isn't in anymore pain.
When we started getting more dogs and eventually puppies she was very wise and loved to pretend to be the mother she never was by allowing the pups to climb all over her. She also loved to play chase with them outside. This little 50 lb girl helped me raise my family and alert me to any trouble, as well as teaching our children what it means to 'love' a dog.
When it came time for Trixie to leave us it was very sudden, as she had never been sick a day in her life, so when she went off her food I knew something was up. Two days later we found out she had bone cancer, she had to be put to rest to ease her pain as well as mine. It took her so fast it was really quite a shock, but that's how she lived, fast and never quite knowing what to expect. Trixie was 8 1/2 when she had to leave us for better places to explore, and with my whisper in her ear telling her how much I love her and what a good girl she is, she drifted peacefully to sleep to dream of better days.
Thank you Trixie for all the joy and love you gave us, if only it could have been longer.

' You will always be missed , forever loved , and never far from our heels. '
