Two years passed by so fast. The twins, Kasey and Ruby, got bigger every day. Everyday proved to be a new milestone in the girl’s lives. Their first smiles, first laugh, first word, the first time they crawled and of course their first steps. A video camera was practically physically attached to Paige’s hand. Not just as a ways of never forgetting the sound of their voices on the first day they spoke, or how their chubby little legs wobbled unsteadily as they tried with all their might to walk to mommy. The camera served a much more important purpose. The camera made sure Daddy didn't miss it. Matt spent more times than he'd like to remember sitting in the hotel room, his eyes glued to the t.v screen as he watched Kasey take her first steps followed by Ruby who wasn't about to be shown up by her sister. But behind the obvious happiness he felt there was sadness, he should have been there. He should have been sitting beside Paige calling to their daughters, calling to them to walk to daddy. He should have been their reassuring them Daddy was there when they called for him. Their first word was the two sitting side by side in their little high chairs as Paige taped them for Matt. The girls looked at the camera and smiled, they laughed and then the most amazing thing I have ever seen happened. Paige told them "Say hello to daddy girls". Kasey and Ruby raised their arms in the air, big smiles across their cute chubby little faces as they pushed the words passed their lips for the first time. "Daddy!" They called to him, over and over again as Paige laughed in the background calling, "Matt did you hear that baby?” As Matt sat in his hotel room watching the tape he nodded and replied to his empty hotel room. "Yeah baby, I heard" his voice cracking as he fought not to cry. He was so proud of his girls.

God how he missed them! He missed, not only the most important moments in his daughter’s lives but just the smell of them. They way they fit so perfectly in his arms, so small their little heads could rest in his hands perfectly. He even missed waking up in the middle of the night to the deafening, heart breaking cries that spilled from his babies. He missed Paige! Her laugh, her smile, waking up beside her every morning and going to sleep beside her every night. He loved his job, but this was his family he was missing. For a long time he was sad, beyond sad, depressed, moping around everywhere, only coming alive when the cameras were rolling or when he got to see or hear his girls, all three of them.

However Matt's depression turned to anger. And he took it out on every one around him especially Jeff. Jeff being the kind of person Jeff is let it go. He let Matt yell at him for something completely stupid and just shrugged it off. Like water off a ducks back. Though it was paying a toll on Jeff too. He missed them too, and he got sick of being Matt's punching bag. So while on the road Matt and Jeff had their moments, and they didn't talk to each other, but hey they got over it. Once they came home they were their old selves again. The Matt and Jeff, Paige and I love.
