Description: Something has come between Matt and Jeff Hardy. Who or what could
it be?
Paige ran to Matt's room. 628, that’s the number Jeff had told her. So there she was, standing outside the door staring at the number. She took a deep breath and knocked. No response, she knocked louder and louder until the door swung open.
There stood Matt. His eyes widened when he saw her, then she saw fear flicker through them.
*He thinks I’m here to break it off* she thought. So Paige told him how she felt the best way she could. She quickly pulled him into a wild passionate kiss. When they pulled apart, they were both breathing heavily. Matt framed her face with his hands. They stared into each other’s eyes.
P-“I missed you” She choked out as tears welled in her eyes
M-“I missed you too” Her tears fell freely then. Matt wiped them away.
M-“Don't cry, please, no more crying” She nodded. Matt’s hands left her face and one fell into her hand. He pulled her into the room and let the door shut behind them.
They stood in the middle of the room, Matt turned to Paige and pulled her into his arms. He held her as they silently conveyed everything they felt about each other. Suddenly Matt dropped to his knees in front of her. Paige was confused. Then Matt pushed her shirt up a little and kissed her stomach as his hand ran smooth circles over it.
M-“Hey there little one, daddy loves you so much, more than you could ever know.” Paige was at a loss, how does he know?
P-“How?”
M-“Jeff, he let it slip when he was yelling at me” He smiled at her, she returned it. Paige ran her hands through his hair until he stood up again. Matt took her hand and led her to the bed, Paige started to feel a little unsure. She didn't know if this was right yet. When he lay her down and crawled on beside her she was ready to tell him to stop, but then. He scooted down a little and pushed her shirt up until it was just under her bra. He lay there playing with her stomach and a smile creeped onto her face. She reached down and starting playing with his hair. He brought his head up level to her's and kissed her softly. She ran her hand down the side of his face. When he pulled away a big smile spread across his face.
M-“I'm gonna be a dad” his smile just grew as he said it. Paige nodded and her smile grew with his. M-“I love you so much” He kissed her again.
P-“I love you too” They kissed again, only this time it grew and became very passionate. Matt ran his hand up her stomach up under her shirt and cupped her breast in his hand. Paige pulled away and pushed his hand away. Matt looked at her confused.
P-“Not tonight...Please, just hold me...make the pain stop.” Matt held her close and kissed her forehead.
M-“Anything for you” he whispered in her ear.
They lay there, just holding each other. Matt running his hands up and down
her back and through her hair. Paige gripping him close to her. Never wanting
to let go. For what seemed like hours neither of them said a word. Until Matt.
M-“Can we go home tomorrow?” Paige looked up at him, nodded her head and replied.
P-“Please” Matt kissed her softly for what had to have been the 100th time that night.
P-“Mmm.... we have talk to Jeff” Matt nodded and smiled at the thought of his meddling little brother. Thank god for Jeff.
M-“We will”
P-“Tonight, before he goes to sleep” Matt moaned
M-“I don't want to move” It made Paige smile.
P-“I know, but we have to, we owe him, big time.” Matt nodded, got off the bed and pulled Paige with him. He held her hand in his and the two walked down to Jeff's room.
~~ Jeff's Room ~~
Jeff was lying on the bed, flicking through channels on the TV when he heard the knocking on the door. He walked over and opened it. He saw Matt and Paige standing there, he looked down and saw their hands joined. He smiled at the sight before him.
J-“Things went well then” Matt and Paige both nodded in unison. Jeff stepped aside and motioned for them to come in.
J-“Well it's about damn time, if this was going to go on any longer I would have had to KNOCK some sense into you Matt ( Matt smiled )....and you I don't know what I would have done with you” Jeff looked at Paige. Matt put his arm around Paige. She slid her arm around Matt in return and Jeff noticed the look of contentment on her face.
J-“So what's going on?”
P-“We're going home tomorrow” She smiled, Jeff almost broke down. There was his, sister, she was back. Oh how he'd missed her. He stepped forward and engulfed her into a big warm hug. She hugged back for dear life. Matt looked on and smiled.
M-“Hey... that's my wife” he joked.
J-“And she's my sister.” Jeff said proudly. Matt smiled so big it made his cheeks hurt.
J-“Welcome back, I've missed you” Jeff whispered to Paige and kissed her cheek. They pulled apart.
M-“So, are you coming home too?” Matt said to Jeff. Jeff smiled.
J-“Yeah, I think it's time we were all back together, the whole family” They all looked at each other and couldn't believe how much things had changed in just a few hours. To say they were happy would be the understatement of the millennium.
J-“I'll call Vince and tell him we need some time off”
M-“Vince, I’d completely forgotten about work”
J-“He'll give us the time off, don't worry about it, I’ll take care of it”
M-“Thank you”
J-“No problem, it's just a phone call” Matt shock his head no
M-“Not for that, for everything, for fixing things, for being there when I should have been. I owe big time little brother and I love you”
J-“Yes you do owe me big time” Jeff joked as he pulled Matt in for a manly hug. Matt laughed.
J-“I love you too” They pulled apart and Jeff looked over at Paige, who smiled at him, that sweet smile he had missed so much. He looked in her eyes and saw that familiar gleam that yesterday seemed lost forever.
J-“Now you two get going, you have allot of time to make up for”
Matt and Paige both nodded and turned towards the door. Jeff stopped them.
J-“Oh… wait a minute” they turned back and Jeff walked up to Paige. He dropped to his knees in front of her, that was happening allot lately, put his hand on her stomach and said.
J-“Hey in there little dude ( Paige laughed ), this is your uncle, I will be the one who will spoil you rotten. When mommy and daddy say no I will say yes. Of course, we must never tell them, it will be our little secret. Always remember, Mommy, Daddy and Uncle Jeff love you more than anything in this world. You can always count on us” Paige thought she was going to cry, Jeff was the sweetest guy in the world. Actually he shared that position with Matt. After all, they were brothers and the two men she loved more than anything.
