Description: Something has come between Matt and Jeff Hardy. Who or what could
it be?
Jeff called Paige again. He'd been calling for 3 weeks and he kept getting the machine. She actually answered the phone this time.
P-"Hello" She sounded tired and defeated.
J-"Hey Hun"
P-"Jeff... I’m sorry, I haven’t called"
J-"It's okay, it doesn't matter, I’ve been worried are you okay?" Paige started crying.
P-"No, oh god Jeff what am I going to do?" Jeff was confused, do about what?
J-"What Paige? Do about what?"
P-"I'm pregnant Jeff, I'm pregnant" Jeff was shocked into silence. He found his voice.
J-"I'm coming to get you, we are going to get to the bottom of this once and for all, ok?"
P-"ok, when"
J-"Right now, I’ll be there in a few hours"
P-"okay, I’ll see you then"
J-"Paige, pack a bag for the week, I love you sis" Paige cried again, but this time it was slight happiness.
P-"I love you too Jeffy" Jeff hung up, grabbed his keys and drove straight to the airport on his way to Cameron.
When Jeff arrived in Cameron he got into a cab and headed straight to Paige's house, he walked in to find a bag at the door. He called out to Paige and she ran down stairs and practically jumped into his arms. He held her tight for a few minutes before pulling back.
J-"We better go, I have a cab waiting" Paige nodded and they headed out to the car.
They arrived at the airport and boarded the next plane to Atlanta. They arrived there at about 7:30pm that night. They went straight to the hotel and to Jeff's room. He called room service for dinner and they talked. While they were talking Jeff told Paige what he was going to do.
P-"Jeff I’m not so sure about this"
J-"It'll be fine, I’m not going to let him keep hurting you anymore" Paige forced a smile at him and he hugged her. After dinner Jeff walked down the hall to Matt's room. He wasn't sure if he was going to be there, as he heard that a few of the guys were going to a club that night. But he was. Jeff walked straight into the room as soon as Matt opened the door. Matt closed the door and turned to face Jeff.
M-"Jeff wh" Jeff cut him off.
J-"No Matt you are going to shut the F#@K up and listen to me god damn it." Matt just stood there and nodded his obedience.
J-"I am not going to let you hurt her anymore. For 2 years all you've done is f#@k her and leave her. Is that all she is to you Matt?" Matt shook his head no.
J-"Everytime, you leave her, and I spend the next 2 days holding her as she cries, everytime she says she's not going to let you do it again, and everytime you work some sort of voodoo shit on her and she's powerless to stop you. Well enough Matt. You are her husband, you are supposed to love her, cherish her, hold her when she cries and be there for her FOREVER. Not just love her and leave her. YOU ARE KILLING HER!" Jeff yelled.
M-"I don't want to hurt her" he whispered.
J-"THAN why do you keep doing it?"
M-"cause I need her I try to stay away but I can't, I try to stop thinking about her but I can't. Hell I try to stop loving her but I can't. She hurt me, and I can't stop loving her."
J-"What are talking about she hurt you?"
M-"She cheated on me, she f#@cked Adam and god knows who else."
J-"That's not true"
M-"Yes it is Jeff, Adam told me"
J-"And you believed Adam over your wife" Matt looked down
J-"Matt, you are the only man she has EVER been with, I know that, because she told me, she loves you so much. Who knows why, but she does"
M-"Tell me who to believe Jeff. Adam who knows a personal detail about her that he couldn't know, unless.... Or you who tells me what Paige told you?"
J-"What's the personal detail Matt?" Matt took a deep breath and looked away from Jeff as he told him.
M-" A tattoo she has"
J-"Yeah on the top of her thigh, a butterfly"
M-"How did you know that?" Jeff got in Matt's face.
J-"Everybody knows about it Matt, You were drunk one night and told everyone, you idiot"
Matt racked his brain trying to remember, it dawned on him, he did tell everyone when he was drunk one night, but that doesn't prove anything, Adam still could have slept with her.
M-"That doesn't mean anything, it still could have happened"
J-"My god Matt, what has gotten in to you, you never used to be this way. I don't understand you. You would believe that ass-hole over your own wife"
M-"I don't know what to believe." Suddenly, something occurred to Jeff.
J-"Did you ever ask her? Did you ever confront her with this?"
M-"No" he said it barely above a whisper, but Jeff heard it.
J-"Good God Matt, you know she can't lie to you, if you had asked her, you would have known the truth. God you are so stubborn sometimes." Matt realised that Jeff was right.
M-"Oh god you're right, I should have asked her, I know she'd never lie to me. I sure as hell shouldn't have believed Adam... But its too late Jeff, the damage has been done."
J-"Oh my god!" Jeff was really frustrated.
J-"You are married to one of the most beautiful, Sweetest, greatest women in the world, the women who is about to be the mother of your child and you are going to let her go" Jeff didn't realise what he'd said. He was supposed to let Paige tell him. Matt's head shot up.
M-"What did you just say?" Jeff looked away and then back at Matt.
J-"Paige is pregnant, about 4 weeks, the last time you f#@cked her and ran off you left a mark."
M-"Can you stop calling it that... I'm going to be a dad?"
J-"yeah matt, you're going to be a dad, the greatest woman in the world is going to be your child’s mother, and you know what.... You don't deserve her." With that Jeff left.
Matt just stood there for a while, totally speechless.
