Description: Something has come between Matt and Jeff Hardy. Who or what could
it be?
When Paige woke up Matt was gone. She wasn't surprised, but that didn't mean it didn't hurt like hell. She got dressed and called Jeff. She couldn’t say anything, she just cried.
J-“Hello” he heard her crying and knew exactly who it was and what had happened.
J-“Paige, hold on, I’ll be there in a minute” He hung up the phone and drove as fast as he could to her house. He let himself in with a key that she had given him. And ran straight to where he knew she would be. He ran straight upstairs, straight into the bedroom. As soon as he walked in he saw her, curled up on the bed in a ball crying. The air still lingered with the smell and stickiness of sex. He ran to the bed, he picked her up and cradled her in his arms as she cried until she couldn't cry anymore. All Jeff could think about was 'how could matt do this to her?' and 'I'm going to kill him'.
Jeff stayed with Paige the entire weekend. Matt never came back, he never called. But that was expected. He never did. It was always the same. Every time they were back in town. He would go to her, make love to her, leave while she was asleep and she’d never hear from him until the next time. When Jeff left Paige's house to pick up Matt he had to keep telling himself over and over again “keep calm, keep calm”. It worked and he managed to keep quite the entire trip to Charlotte. It helped that Shane was in the car too.
That was a month ago. Jeff hadn't heard from Paige in 3 weeks, and was worried.
She always called every week, just to talk. They were friends and truth was
Jeff loved her. Now I know what you're thinking and it's not like that, he loved
her like a sister, after all she was his sister in-law. That's right, Paige
is Mrs Matt Hardy and it killed Jeff to see Matt treat her this way. He never
knew what happened that made Matt this way. They used to be so happy, they are
soul mates after all. All he knew was one day Matt came home, and was different.
Nothing has ever been the same since. Jeff asked Paige once, in the beginning,
if she knew what had happened, but she was just as clueless as Jeff was. Matt
was the only one with the answer. That was the subject of their constant fights
“Why are you hurting her”. It was always the same, “Why are
you hurting her? What's happened to you?” and all Jeff would get was silence
or it's none of your business. Well Jeff, he'd had enough now. He was making
this his business. He was not going to let this stretch into another year of
hell for Paige.
