Description: Something has come between Matt and Jeff Hardy. Who or what could
it be?
Ok so here we set our scene. Matt Hardy is a WWF Superstar along with his brother Jeff and their best friend Shane Helms a.k.a. Hurricane. There was tension between Matt and Jeff, everyone saw it, but they all knew not to push the subject to find out where it had come from. Lately that tension had grown even more. Jeff was obviously furious with Matt, why, no one knew. All right are you ready? Here we go.
The story begins. Matt, Jeff and Shane are having lunch. They are laughing and joking around. They start talking about home, Cameron NC, and suddenly Jeff's face fell. He wasn't laughing anymore, he wasn't joking, he just sat there with a blank expression, except when he would look up occasionally to glare at Matt. Shane just watched the scene play out in front of him.
J-"I'm going... suddenly I've lost my appetite" Jeff spat out at Matt. Matt looked hurt and remorseful. Remorseful? What is all this about? Shane was speechless.
M-"Jeff, don't please" Matt pleaded, but Jeff just kept walking.
~ Later That Day ~
Shane heard yelling coming from Matt's hotel room. He couldn't understand what they were saying but he knew it was Matt and Jeff fighting again. Everything went silent until the door slammed. Shane poked his head around the door and saw Jeff standing there, leaning against the wall. He was running his hands through his hair and looked very frustrated.
S-"Jeff, man, Are you okay?" Jeff turned quickly and looked at him.
J-"Shane, yeah I’m fine dude." Jeff tried to smile but it looked forced.
S-" What were you and Matt fighting about?"
J-" The same thing as usual"
S-"Wanna tell me what?" Jeff just shook his head no. Shane nodded.
S-"okay, but I’m here if you need me, dude" Jeff nodded and walked away.
J-"I'll see you tomorrow" He sent as he disappeared down the stairs.
~ The next day ~
Matt, Jeff and Shane met each other downstairs at their car. They were on their way home for the weekend. Matt and Jeff weren't talking to each other; they wouldn't even look at each other, except to glare furiously at one another. Shane sighed. This was going to be a very long trip.
By afternoon they were driving down the streets of Cameron. It was just Matt and Jeff now. They had dropped Shane off at his house already. Jeff who was driving finally spoke up.
J-" So I guess I'll being dropping you off at dad's."
M-"Yeah I guess so" Matt sighed.
J-"In that case, don't go to her this time. You've hurt her enough"
M-"Jeff this is none of your business" Jeff was fuming now
J-"None of my business!" He yelled. Jeff sighed and gave up.
J-"you know what you're right it is none of my business, but if you hurt her again I will make it my business". Jeff looked at Matt sternly as he stopped the car in his dad's driveway. Matt just nodded, grabbed his bags and went in side. Jeff sat in the car for a while, trying to calm down. He took a deep breath and drove away.
Jeff slumped down on his couch when he got home. He turned his head and saw the phone. *I have to warn her*. He picked up the phone dialled that familiar number. She answered, with her sweet innocent, beautiful voice that broke Jeff's heart. Her voice used to be bubbly. But he changed all that.
Paige-"Hello"
J-"Hey Hun"
P-"Jeff, hey, you're home aren’t you?"
J-"Yeah,"
P-"Is Matt with you?"
J-"He's at dad's, but I predict he will be at your place in about an hour. That's how long it usually takes." There was silence and Jeff began to worry.
J-"Paige! Paige, answer me Hun" Jeff heard sobs at the other end
of the phone. His heart fell deep
in his chest. He didn't understand how he could do this to her.
P-"Why does he keep doing this to me?" She choked out.
J-"I don't know, I don't know" She stopped crying and composed herself.
P-"I better go"
J-"mm hmm"
P-"I'll see you later"
J-“Definitely, I’m always here if you need me"
P-"Thanks, bye" and she hung up the phone.
~ Meanwhile at Matt and Jeff's Dad's house ~
Matt lay on his old bed. His dad was still at work so he was in the house alone. He couldn't stop thinking about her; then again he never stopped thinking about her. He was trying to stay away. He didn't want to hurt her anymore. But he couldn't. He grabbed his keys, got in his car and drove over to THEIR house.
When he got there, he walked up to that old familiar door. He stopped and thought about it for a while, but when he drew a deep breath in, he could already smell her. From then on his body was in control. He put his key in the door, and walked in. He called out her name looking for her. And as he turned the corner, and looked up, he saw her standing at the top of the stairs. She looked so beautiful. Paige just stared at him. He ascended the stairs until he was standing right in front of her. He caressed her cheek with his hand. She closed her eyes at his touch. *Why does love have to hurt so much* she thought. He leaned in and kissed her softly. She felt her knees get weak. Why could he always do this to her. Matt deepened the kiss; he put his hand behind her neck and traced his tongue over her lips. With a mind of it's own her mouth opened granting him entrance. He tilted her head back slightly and searched her mouth with his tongue. She always tasted the same. A taste he loved, he needed, and he was addicted to. He was addicted to her, everything about her. Her hands snaked up around his neck. Matt's hands travelled down her back, down to her butt and he lifted her into the air like she was a feather. Her legs wrapped around him as he led them to the bedroom.
Matt lay Paige down on the bed, he kissed everywhere he could reach. He made love to her never breaking eye contact. They came together and Matt rolled off of her pulling her into his arms. He held her as she cried softly. He even let a tear roll down his face. He hated hurting her. He held her until she fell asleep and then, like always he left.
