Blair gets caught with her seduction mission, and Emily just wants to give Chad another chance. Just when things are getting good, she learns yet another thing he did which upset her once and for all.
OPERATION: SEDUCTION 7/16/02 (Troy walks into the pool area and we see Blair in a towel) Troy: Where's Starr? Blair: You don't need Starr, Troy. You don't need anyone but me. (Takes off her towel) See anything you like? Troy: Blair, Blair, what are you doing? Blair: What I've wanted to do for a long, long time. Troy: Whoa, wait a minute here, Blair. I am with Nora. You know that, ok? Blair: Oh, I don't see Nora anywhere. Do you? Troy: Yeah, no, I mean -- well, no, you don't -- Blair: I won't tell if you won't. (She grabs him and kisses him) (Next scene) (He pushes her away) Troy: Blair, what are you doing? What are you doing? Would you put some clothes on or something? Blair: Well, see, I don't have any. Troy: Well, then here, ok? (Throws a towel at her) Blair: Oh, come on, Troy, it's hot. Aren't you hot? Oh, yes, I do believe you are. Troy: I am not hot. Blair, what is going on with you? Blair: I don't know. It must be the heat. I just couldn't help myself. Troy: Well, then try harder. Blair: Well, I don't think it's going to work. See, I -- I find you very attractive. Troy: Blair, this is a bad plan you got going on here. Blair: Come on, Troy, don't you find me the least bit attractive? I mean, just a little bit? Troy: No, I don't find you attractive. Blair: Oh, come on, not even a little bit? Troy: Ok, fine. Of course, Blair. You're a beautiful woman. Of course -- yes. Blair: So? Troy: "So?" So it doesn't matter if I'm attracted to you or not, Blair. I am with someone else. Blair: Nora? Troy: That's right, Nora. I am involved with Nora -- seriously involved with Nora. Blair: Come on, Troy -- Troy: I am in love with Nora. Blair: Troy, look, it's just the two of us here. You can be honest with me. Troy: I am honest with you, Blair. I don't want anyone else. Blair: No, no, no, I think that there's more to this story. Now, you're lying to yourself or you're lying to me. Troy: Are you serious? Where are you getting this from? Blair: Well, the way you're looking at me just now. I mean, also the way you looked at me the other day when we were at the country club and we ran into each other. You remember that? I know and I can tell when a man is interested. Troy: Well, obviously not or you wouldn't have just thrown yourself at me, Blair. Blair: Well, I don't see you going anywhere. And we both know if you really wanted to leave, you would. Troy: I am here because now that Todd's gone, Starr needs a man in her life, not because you do, Blair. Blair: I don't need anyone. I just want a little good, clean fun. Troy: Starr's not upstairs with Heddy, is she? And you -- you set this whole thing up. You sent her away so that you could be alone with me, didn't you? You planned this whole thing. I want to know why, Blair. (Next scene) (There's a flashback) Chad's voice: What about all the stuff I did, like the web site? Emily's voice: Everybody deserves a second chance. (Chad is waiting) Chad: All right, Chad, you know what? It's been a half an hour. Obviously, she's not showing up. (Emily shows up) Emily: Hi. Chad: Hi. Emily: I'm sorry I'm late. (Next scene) Emily: I'm really sorry I was late. I took the garbage out and the loft door blew shut and I had to go get the super. Chad: Well, in the future, we keep a set of keys behind the bar. Emily: Yeah, but you weren't there. Chad: I actually wasn't sure if you were even going to show up. Emily: I said I was. Chad: Yeah, I know, I just -- I don't know, I didn't know if you were serious about giving me a second chance. Emily: Hey, I said I would, didn't I? Chad: Yes, yes, you did. I -- I don't know. I just thought maybe that web site still got to you. Emily: Come on, Chad, everybody screws up. I mean, I've actually made a few mistakes myself. Chad: Yeah, right. You? Emily: Only one or two, but they were pretty major. Chad: Well, with a face like that, I doubt it. I don't know, you strike me as the type of person that always does the right thing. Emily: Well, I have hidden depths and they're shark-infested. Chad: "Shark-infested." Well, what exactly would these sharks be guarding? Emily: Well, you'll just have to get to know me better and find out. Think you're up to it? Chad: Mm-hmm. What about you? (Next scene) Emily: I liked her Christmas present better, so I took it and no one ever found out. Chad: And you still got it? Emily: Absolutely. Chad: Oh! That's terrible. Emily: Hmm. Chad: No. Well, that's fine. I mean, besides, it's nothing like, you know, setting up web cams in Cristian's apartment and, like, you know, broadcasting him naked all over the internet. Emily: True. Chad: But that's the worst thing I've ever done, I promise. Emily: Cross your heart? Chad: Cross my heart. And there will be no more bombshells from the Shawna and Mollie contingent. Emily: Well, that's good because so far, I -- I think you're really great. Chad: Great. I think you're really great, too. Chad: Oh. Yeah, just call me Mr. Smooth. Emily: Yeah. Chad: Pretty much screwed up that moment. Stay here. I'm going to go get us some napkins, ok? Stay -- stay dry. (Goes to get napkins and bumps into Sam) Hey, Mr. Rappaport. Hey, how's Blair doing? I've been thinking about her. Sam: Yeah, I bet you have. Chad: What's that supposed to mean? Sam: Well, I think it's pretty obvious. You took a very drunk, married woman out to an alleyway and tried to have sex with her. What kind of man does that? (Emily is listening.) (Next scene) Blair: Troy, Troy, please, please, you don't have to go. (He's heading into the house; she follows him) Troy: No, no, actually, I do because you won't take no for an answer. Blair: No, why can't we just talk? Troy: Well, put your clothes on then! Blair: You don't understand, Troy. Troy: I don't understand? Blair: No, you don't. Troy: Blair, you just got naked and came on to me. I'd have to be blind not to get the message. Blair: Well, yeah, and I'd have to be dead not to feel the rejection, all right, so thank you. Troy: Look, Blair, I'm not rejecting you, ok? I'm really not. I mean, you know that I'm with someone else. So why would you -- why would you set this up? What is it that you want from me? Blair: I don't want anything from you. Troy: No, Blair, don't. Blair: I don't. Troy: Don't lie to me. Look, fine, yeah, I -- I admit that -- that I had a feeling that you wanted to be something else besides just friends. But I figured I'd -- I'd give you the benefit of the doubt, for Starr's sake. Blair: Well, she really does adore you. Troy: The feeling is mutual. I mean, your little girl, she saved my life. If there's anything that I can do for her, I will, no questions asked. But come on, Blair, this goes above and beyond. Blair: All right. Ok. I hear you loud and clear. I got your point. Troy: Well, I'm sorry, but I'm just a little bit angry with you right now. Blair: A little? Yeah, no kidding. Troy: Look, Blair, I know that you've been -- you've had a rough time lately with your marriage ending and Todd and back and forth to Hawaii -- Blair: Oh, wait, wait, that has nothing to do with this. Troy: And I like you, Blair. I think you're great. I mean, you're fun and you're sexy and -- and, yeah, I -- I probably shouldn't have given you mixed signals, but I just -- I guess I didn't want to see what was really going on. You know, I figured I was kind of being an egomaniac to think that you would ever want me. Blair: Troy, tell you what, you just wait, ok? Troy: No, Blair -- no, seriously, Blair -- Blair: No -- Troy: No, let me say this! Blair: What? Troy: You can't hold out any hope for you and me, ok? No, Blair, I mean, you're great. It's not that you're not great. But I love Nora, and that's never going to change. That's never -- Blair: Oh, you talk about an ego! I don't want you! I've never wanted you! Is that what you thought? I did this for Sam, Troy -- Sam! Troy: Wait a minute, you did what for Sam? What are you talking about? Blair: No, wait a minute. See what you did? You just got me all turned around. I don't even know what I'm saying. Why don't you just go, Troy, go. Troy: Uh-uh. No, no, no, because what you just said sounded like the truth, Blair. What do you mean that this -- you did this for Sam? What does that mean? Blair: Chalk it up for me having a hard time and leave me alone! Just go! Please, leave me alone. Troy: No, Blair, no, I'm not going to just go and let you off that easy. Now, you say that you didn't want me, yet you came on to me. You tried to seduce me and you said that you did it for Sam. I don't get that, Blair. That doesn't make any sense to me. Blair: Right! Because now look what you've done. You've got me so upset, I don't even know what I'm doing. Troy: Why did you do it, Blair? Why? Blair: You're giving me a headache. I feel a migraine coming on right now. Troy: You know what, Blair, I don't really care what I am giving you. I want to know why you did it and what Sam has to do with it. Uh-huh. Oh, no, you've got to be kidding me. Blair: Oh, no, whatever you think I'm thinking, you're wrong. Troy: I can't be. It's the only explanation. Blair: No. Troy: No, no, no, no, you figure if I fall for you, then that way Sam can get Nora back. Blair: No. Troy: It's the only possible reason. You tried to seduce me to help Sam. Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. Wait, whoa, whoa, whoa. Did Sam put you up to this? Blair: Sam would do nothing like this, Troy, because he's a good, kind, decent human being, and you don't know anything about him! Troy: So you admit it. You just admitted it right there, Blair. You're trying to help him -- I can't even believe this, Blair. Blair: What? Troy: Do you understand how sick this is? Blair: Oh, me? Troy: Yeah, you! Blair: Oh, well, you should know because you did exactly the same thing with Lindsay when you tried to steal Nora from Sam to begin with, Troy! Troy: Blair -- Blair: Remember that? Troy: No, that was different. Blair: Oh, wait a min-- that was different? Oh, I don't think so. You had sex with her, you asked her to marry you, and then I think you tried to lock her in the fun house, except she turned the tables on you. See, I don't think our friend Lindsay is as crazy as I thought. Troy: Let me tell you something, Blair -- if I didn't do what I did, then Lindsay would have gotten away with some horrible crimes. Do you understand that? Blair: And you wouldn't be with your dear Nora, now, would you? Now get out of my way. Troy: Let me ask you something, Blair -- why would you go to all this trouble just for Sam, huh? What is he to you? Blair: Sam was there for me when no one else was. He's my friend and he's hurting and he deserves better. Troy: Isn't that his business? Blair: Sam and Nora have loved each other forever. They would be together if you weren't in the picture, Troy. They'd be together, home right now with their beautiful little boy, a happy family, because that's the way it's supposed to be. Does it ever bother you that you destroyed everything they had? (Next scene) Sam: Blair was so drunk she could barely walk, and yet you managed to get her out in the alleyway and get her dress off before I showed up. (Starr comes in) Starr: What's going on? Sam: Never mind. We're leaving. Starr: No, wait! Hold on a second, I always get to miss the good part! Wait, this isn't fair! (He goes back to Emily) Chad: Ok. Oh, no. Did -- did you hear all that? Emily: Every word. Chad: Well, it wasn't as bad as he made it sound. Emily: How bad was it? Chad: How do you feel about third chances? (Next scene) Emily: (Getting up) It's late. I got to go. Chad: What, because of what you just overheard? Emi y: No. Chad: Ok, let me give you a ride home then. Emily: No, thanks. Chad: Let me at least give you money for a taxi. Emily: You know, I have money and I really just feel like walking. Chad: Ok. Can -- can I call you? Emily: I'm really busy with classes. Why don't I just give you a call when things settle down. Thanks for the coffee. (Next scene) Troy: I didn't destroy everything Sam and Nora had. Their relationship fell apart all by itself. Blair: Is that what you think? Come on! Sam and Nora have loved each other forever, Troy, way before you were ever in the picture. When they were apart, married to other people, they still couldn't stay away from each other. Hell, when Nora lost her memory, she fell in love with Sam all over again. Troy: Well, since you're so smart, let me ask you this. If Sam and Nora are so in love, how come they're so not together? Blair: Because of you, Troy. And if you had any decency, you would let Nora go. Troy: Well, I guess I don't have any decency because I don't intend on letting Nora go. I love her -- [The door opens and Sam walks in] Troy: And she loves me, and there isn't anything that you or anyone else can do about it! Sam: Hey. What's going on? What's all the shouting about? Troy: You really want to know? I'll tell you exactly what's going on. CONTINUATION: TROY KEEPS QUIET
