1962 Corvair Monza Coupe-

In '62 the body was basically the same.  A few cosmetic features were changed so that people could distinguish their 'vair from earlier models. The "grill" trim was altered as well as the hubcaps.  There were also some different interior packages.  The most notable change was under the hood, er, "trunk".  In '62 the Corvair was given a little sting in its tail.  The Corvair "Spyder" was introduced in '62.  It consisted of a chrome plated turbocharger that looked like it came from the special effects department of the latest sci-fi flick.  It was chromed from the intake, to the bulleted heat shield.  All one would have to do was raise the lid and everyone would know that this baby was a screamer!  In '62 the Corvair went from the "American Volkswagen" to the "American Porsche".
