The 1969 Corvair-
This was the last year for the Corvair.  It seemed that the public's tastes were changing.  Everyone was wanting more horsepower and the Corvair engine had been pushed to it's limit.  In 1966 Chevrolet introduced the Camero and people began shoehorning every engine imaginable into it.  It was, I feel, the beginning of the end.  By early 1968, Chevrolet knew that the market was shifting and so it was announced that 1969 would be the last year for the Corvair.

In 1988 I bought a 1964 Corvair Monza Coupe.  I had it painted white, its original color. Me and my father rebuilt the motor and had a lot of fun doing it.  I drove that car all through high school.  It holds a  lot of good memories and a few bad ones.  I still have the car and I can't bring myself to get rid of it. I have it stored away in an old barn and maybe someday I'll dig it out from under the dust and years.  For now it's just a memory waiting to happen...........
