Rachel graduated from BYU in 1998 with a BS in Family Science. She worked at Summa Associates, a child care referral service for 18 months after graduation and also as a nanny. She was married to Lance McDermott in the Mesa Arizona Temple on August 18, 2000. She is the stepmother to two adorable children, Tyler (8) and Madison (5). She and Lance are expecting their first child in October. She spends her days taking care of her family and her house and also her nephew, Alek. She is currently serving in the Young Women's Organization in her ward as a Beehive Advisor.
