| William Muir was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne on 1st October 1873, he was a cab driver, son of William Muir, tailor and Agnes Laing, both of his parents were from Scotland. William married Margaret Campbell on 20 May 1896 in St Dominics Church, Red Barnes, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
