Pre-instructional: TSW name the four major oceans. TTW ask the students what is a diver. TSW sing A Diver Went into the Sea. A Diver went into the Sea (Tune: BINGO) A diver went into the sea to see what he could see- OCT-O-P-U-S OCT-O-P-U-S OCT-O-P-U-S He saw a moving octopus. A diver went into the sea to see what he could see- S-H-A-R-K S-H-A-R-K S-H-A-R-K He saw a biting shark. A diver went into the sea to see what he could see- LOB-S-T-E-R LOB-S-T-E-R LOB-S-T-E-R He saw a pinching lobster. A diver went into the sea to see what he could see- W-H-A-L-E W-H-A-L-E W-H-A-L-E He saw a floating whale. A diver went into the sea to see what he could see- TU-R-T-L-E TU-R-T-L-E TU-R-T-L-E He saw a swimming turtle. Procedure 1: a. TTW show the students a picture of diver. b. TTW tell the students facts about divers. c. TSW tell what they have learned. Procedure 2: a. TSW make the booklet A Diver Went into the Sea. b. TTW give each student pages to make the book. c. TSW color the pages. d. TTW staple the page together. e. TSW read their story. Procedure 3: a. TTW discuss with the students what the diver saw first, second, etc. b. TTW put sea animals that are in the story on index cards. c. TSW put them in sequence as the diver saw them. |
