Born in Beirut on Sept, 2, 1964 to english mother, Patricia, and half hawaiian/half chinese, father, Samuel Nowlin Reeves.
Samuel Reeves, a geologist, met Patricia at a club while she was working as a showgirl. The family moved to Australia for a year where his sister, Kim, was born in 1966. Parents divorced shortly thereafter and Sam went to Hawaii, while patricia took the family to New York. Patricia re-married a director, Paul Aaron. The new Aaron family moved to Toronto and took up Canadian citizenship, which Keanu still is. This marriage split up one year later. Patricia married two more times. Once to rock 'n roll promoter, Robert Miller, to which Keanu's half-sister Karina was born in 1976, and then to Jack Bond, a hair salon owner. That marraige ended in 1994. Patricia now works as a costume designer. Keanu's last formal visit with his father was when he was 13. His father later went to prison on a cocaine possession charge. He was in prison from 1994 to 1996.
Keanu's passions as a teen were hockey, acting, and music. He played hockey while in high school and also landed roles in some plays and commercials. He ended up dropping out of high school while in his senior year.
Keanu moved to Los Angeles, where step-father Paul Aaron lived, in 1986. He began getting parts in movies and so on.
While music was always of interest to him, he didn't take up playing bass until age 23. He self-taught himself how to play.
He then met Mailhouse while in a grocery store in 1991. He noticed Mailhouse was wearing a "Detroit Red Wings" (my hometown) sweater and asked him if he needed a player. Mailhouse said yes. The band began as a "garage band". Keanu is as dedicated to the band as he is to his acting career, some say perhaps more so to the band. It helps keep him even-keeled and grounded.
Keanu had an on-again ~ off-again relationship with Jennifer Syme. In December of 1999, Jennifer and Keanu had a baby that was stillborn. At 29 years old, Jennifer died in a car accident in which she hit several parked cars in the early morning hours.
Both sequels to THE MATRIX have finally been released. The first,"The Matrix Reloaded 2003, is now available on DVD with DOLBY 5.1!!! . The third sequel, "Matrix Revolutions" is currently playing at box offices. The word is that Dogstar will be doing the soundtracks for the movies!!!
I have the DVD "RELOADED" and I didn't like it at all! I felt that for those who haven't seen the original it didn't explain The Matrix, nor how the world as they are seeing it, isn't real, but a computer program. So, I doubt too many undertsood it. But, I must see "Revolutions", because it's trailers state we learn what the Matrix is. I thought I knew from the first movie, so I can't wait to see it. I also know it all has to end somehow. I just wonder how.
And that is all I have at this moment. Since most viewing this page must be Keanu fans, I feel that many of you know more than I about this man with handsome, classic, movie star looks, and the sexiest voice the film industry and I have ever heard.
