Wild vs. Colorado Avs
2003 Stanley Cup Western Conf. Quarterfinals
April 16, 2003 - Game #4
Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul
3-1 Loss
In just its third year, the MN Wild have qualified for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  The Wild were #6 and the Colorado Avalanche were #3 in the Western Conference.  MN won game 1 in Denver, Avs took games 2 and 3.  I could only get two tickets to the game - but this time I brought my dad Dick along to the game.  Once again another large crowd was on hand - 19,000+ all with State of Hockey flags waving.  The crowd was really into it from the warm ups to the final horn.  The electricity in the X was immeasurable!  Another thrilling night!  Roli started in goal but was replaced by Manny Fernandez after giving up two quick goals.  The Wild settled down after that and finally scored on the power play - but it wasn't enough to win.

It was quite the season for the Wild - the pre-game slideshow featured memorable moments and cool photographs.
Even the warm-ups were exciting - you could feel the energy building in the X!
Drop the puck!  And Game 4 begins.
Roli started in goal, but the Avs scored two early goals and Manny Fernandez came in to replace Roli.  If Manny didn't do well, then they always had Dick "The Defender" waiting in the wings just in case.
