This was a re-match of last year's Western Conference finals. Just like the playoffs it was an even match and a low-scoring game. One of our favorite players, Wes Walz, got the goal and Manny held his own in the pipes. An improved performance compared to other games, better skating, better passes, and signs of patience. This is the first game I saw where the Wild wore their new third jerseys - Iron Range red in color. I really like the new jerseys. Mom came to the game with me. The game ended in a tie - a common occurrence this year for the Wild.

My friend Kyle and I finally made it to a Wild game together. We tried to meet up last November at the Detroit game, but this time we had a better plan and sat next to each other. We cheered nice and loud, and the Wild tried really hard, but they didn't get any lucky bounces and couldn't get the power play going. They held the Avs to just 14 shots, but unfortunately 3 of them counted for goals.
I originally bought these Penguins tickets for someone else, but he couldn't go to the game - so my mom and I went instead. The Wild got off to a slow start and it looked like the worst game since season one - but then the Wild came around and ended up winning the game in grand fashion. The Winter Palace was under construction and we could see it from the windows of the X. Can't wait for the All Star game and the Winter Carnival. Mom came to this game too.

Kyle joined me for this game too - the second to the last game of the season. Kristi and Dewey and their neighbors Pam and Kelly were also at the game. Before the game there was a salute to the Season Ticketholders - and to Rolie for setting a club record for lowest GAA (he eventually won the award for the NHL's lowest GAA for the season). Former Viking player Carl Eller, #81, did the "Let's Play Hockey" call before the game. We all went to Tom Reid's afterwards to celebrate the big Minnesota victory over the former Minnesota team. After the trade deadline and the loss of some older players, some of the Wild's prospects from Houston were called up. They have brought a new energy to the team and have enjoyed some success going down the stretch. Too bad the success is coming a little late and the season is nearly over. Good signs for next year though.
