Josiah had a strict upbringing by his father, who was a Catholic missionary. Josiah left home and struck out on his own quite early in life. His sister had some problems with serious mental instability, which were aggravated by her father's strict discipline tactics. Because of this, she is now unable to care for herself and had to be institutionalized.
Josiah attended Notre Dame University with designs to become a priest, but changed his mind after earning his degree. From there he joined the Army and learned the skills he now employs as a member of the Special Intelligence Team.
After his stint with the Army, he was recruited by the CIA and received further training in making and disarming explosives of all types. He has been with the Agency longer than some of the younger section chiefs and is looked on by them as a role model, much to his chagrin. Josiah enjoys blowing up targets and does his job with surprising efficiency. In addition to setting explosives, Josiah is also skilled at disarming them.
Because of his upbringing and Army career, Josiah is extensively traveled and highly educated. His usual calm, soothing demeanor belies his violent temperament. Josiah currently lives in an apartment in Georgetown. His sole companion is an old orange tomcat, named Uriel. His codename was given to him because he was going to join the semenary and as such, is highly educated in Biblical lore. |
