Pure Foolishness - M7M Challenge 4-4-2004 Challenge: One of the guys gets hurt ** What were you thinking? Standish whispered sharply. Vin looked away, shrugging. I didnt really, he mumbled. Saw you fall and tried to help. Ezra sighed. It was the first time any of the others or anyone at all had done something like that. Thank you, he replied softly. However, try to keep in mind that I have magic and, while your wings are a great asset, they will do you very little good in windy conditions. Tanner grinned wryly. Now, then, Standish began. Shall we get Nathan to check out your damaged appendage? Yup, Vin replied, eying his broken wing. **** Like A Bad Penny - M7M Challenge 6-7-2004 Challenge: Use this quote from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade... in a drabble: I'm like a bad penny, I always turn up. ** Where is the Soul Crystal? the man demanded, shaking Buck violently. Tell me! I dont know, the investigator stated. Ezra had it. The criminal laughed cruelly. That fools dead, he stated. He fell off the roof. Now, tell me where the crystal is or youll join him. Enough, a voice exclaimed. Suddenly, the man stiffened, released Buck and collapsed to the ground. Buck looked across the roof and smiled broadly. Ezra! he cheered. Youre alive! Im like a bad penny, Standish said, grinning. I always turn up. Ezra? Vin whispered. Ezra grimaced. Wheres Nathan? Vins broke his wing. Chrisll be pissed, Buck stated. Vin shrugged and nodded. I know. **** The Results of His Foolishness - M7M Challenge 4-19-2004 Challenge: One of the guys is angry and vents his anger at someone (not the person he's angry at). The feelings must be resolved somehow - three drabbles. ** Chris POV Ezra peered into Chris office. Mr. Larabee, he called. When Chris looked up, Standish said, Vin broke his wing. How? He leapt off a rooftop, Standish explained. I cant believe he does these things, Chris grumbled, rising. Ezra shrugged. Nathan said that hell be fine, he offered. Thats not the point, Chris snapped, fixing the southerner with a glare. Does he even think about the consequences of his actions? Standish shrugged. I asked him that directly afterwards and he told me that he was only concerned for my well being. Chris sighed. Thats admirable. Looking up, he added, But stupid. ** Vins POV Vin frowned at Ezra and asked, Chris seem angry? Standish shrugged. Can you blame him for feeling exasperated over your insistence on placing the personal well-being of him and myself above your own? he asked softly. Vin sighed. I guess not, he said sadly. Still It aint like I try to get hurt. Its just that I worry over the pair of you. Ezra smiled. And I find that touching, he said softly. Im sure Chris appreciates it as well, its only that he feels the same way, so seeing you place yourself in harms way would naturally frustrate him. ** The Resolution Hey, Vin called, peering into Chris office. Chris walked over to Tanner and looked into his eyes. What am I going to do with you? he grumbled. If you and Ezra were more careful No, Chris argued. You have to remember that we are grown men, perfectly capable of taking care of ourselves. Same goes for me, Vin replied. Chris sighed again. I know, he admitted. I just dont want to lose anyone on this team. Vin chuckled. Just a broken wing. Ill be fine. At Chris worried glance, he added, Ill be more careful. Happy? No, but Im better.

Cause for Concern - M7M Challenge 4-12-2004 This week we have a statement that needs to be used in the drabble. It doesn't count as in 100-word count, so extra numbers, people. "Where have you been? What's the idea of worrying me like that?"-Abbott and Costello in Hollywood ** Ezra should have been here hours ago, Vin mumbled. Chris nodded; then glared darkly as the southerner appeared in the doorway. Where have you been? he demanded. Yeah, Vin agreed. Whats the idea of worryin me like that? I apologize for worryin you, Vin, Ezra replied quietly. To Chris, he said, I overslept. Its almost two in the afternoon, Chris grumbled. I know, he whispered, growing pale. I didnt feel well. Ya dont look that good either, Vin commented softly. As he said those words, Ezras eyes closed. Vin barely managed to catch Standish before he hit the ground. Ezra! Vin gasped. Ill get Nathan, Chris stated, running out of the room. (Because of a few people on the list... this story is being added to. The end is coming soon.)
Shades and Shadows - M7M Challenge 4-26-2004 Challenge: Use the following statement in a drabble: "Everybody just stay calm. The situation is under control." from The Abyss. Note: Keenan is a leader of one of the other intelligence teams as well as being a rather powerful mage. On top of that, he's the ruler of the country where this universe is set. ** We have reason to believe your life might be in danger, Keenan, Chris explained. As he spoke those words, shots were fired. Chris and Buck reacted instantly; drawing their weapons and running off in pursuit of the attacker. Nathan had rushed to Keenans side to examine him and gasped at the wounds in the smaller mans chest. Ow, Keenan breathed; then vanished. Vin gasped in surprise. "Everybody just stay calm, Ezra said firmly. The situation is under control." What? Nathan asked sharply. It wasnt really Keenan, Ezra explained. It was his shadow a magical construct. So, hes fine? Josiah asked. The mage nodded. Lets go help Chris, he stated.
Technical Difficulties - M7M Challange 5-3-2004 Challenge: The guys are experiencing technical problems. Guns, computers, tack for the horses, whatever. *** Ezra turned the key and frowned. It certainly didnt sound like an engine turning over. Sighing deeply, he stepped out of the car, only to be crashed into by a smaller, speeding form. Sorry, the other exclaimed, helping him up. Standish sighed. Its quite alright Ken, he answered. Hidaka had to be the clumsiest person he knew, but he was also one of the few truly good people he knew. Car trouble? Ken asked softly. It wont start? Ezra answered, shrugging. Ken smiled. You can ride with me, he offered, pointing at his own vehicle. Standish eyed the motorcycle nervously. ** Chris scowled darkly at the computer. Whats wrong with you? he growled. Froze, came a soft reply. Chris turned to see Vin looking over his shoulder. Wheres Standish? He can fix this, Chris grumbled. Here, came the strained reply. Ezra stomped over to Chris desk. A moment later the computer hummed back to life. What happened to you? Vin asked, as Ezra straightened. Chris simply stared at his disheveled appearance. My car wouldnt start, but Hidaka was kind enough to offer me a ride. Oh, Chris said. That was nice of him. On his motorcycle, Ezra added. Oh, Vin chuckled.
