Mayhall Services Today William Albert Mayhall, 85, died at 2:30 a.m. Friday at his residence, 2308 Oak St. after a seven-month illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Wesley Methodist Church with the Rev. Cecil Ellis and the Rev. Norman Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery, under the direction of Sorrells & Son Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Doyle Rogers, P. H. Wilhite, Langford Ewell, Jim Patterson, Jack Dempsey and J. C. Powell. Mr. Mayhall was born April 21, 1882, in Hutto, near Austin, son of Lewis and Margaret Meller Mayhall. He was a Hunt County resident most of his life. He married Anna Alice Johnston on June 11, 1905. She died March 27, 1935. he married Jennie Davis on Nov. 7, 1944. He was a farmer in the Lone Oak and Donalton (sic) area, then later served as custodian of Grace Presbyterian Church for three years and Wesley Methodist Church for 18 years. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Jennie Mayhall of Greenville; four daughters, Mrs. R. J. White of Nacogdoches, Mrs. M. A. Gafford of Greenville, Mrs. Jesse L. Jones of Mesquite and Mrs. H. T. Jackson of Fort Worth; one son, Clyde C. Mayhall of Houston; one brother, Oscar Mayhall of Lone Oak; one sister, Mrs. Addie Campbell of Grand Saline; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. One son, William W. Mayhall, preceded him in death.� |
| Stigler News Sentinel 6 Jan 2000 Grady Weece, 79, lifelong Keota resident, died Wednesday, Dec 29, 1999 in a Fort Smith hospital. Funeral services were held in Keota First Baptist Church. Burial in Iron Bridge Cemetery was under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler. A native of Keota, Weece was born 27 Jan. 1920 to Charlie and Deanie (Gibson) Weece. He grew up in Keota where he received his formal education. He married Artie Mayhall in 1941 and they made their home in Keota. He is survived by his wife, Artie of Keota; three daughters, Betty Green of Keota, Shirley Laymon of McCurtain and Martha Gabbard of Keota; four sons, Buddy Weece of Oklahoma City, David, Bobby and Warren Weece, all of Keota; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Deanie Weece; two brothers, David and Monroe Weece; three sisters, Iva Lee Thomas, Florence Coble and Modell Copeman; and one great grandson, Charles Blankenship. |
