| Heath Andrew Ledger was born April 4, 1979 in a hospital call Subiaco Hospital in Perth, Western Australia. Heath has an older sister named Catherine. They were both named after lead charaters Heathcliff and Cathy in a book called Wuthering Heights. His father, Kim, was an engineer, and his mother Sally, a French Teacher. When Heath was ten years old, his parents divorced. They remarried to other people and he got two half-sisters, Ashleigh and Olivia. While Heath was attending the all-boys Gilford Grammar School, he excelled in the drama and sports, but if he had to pick between them, he would go with drama. He graduated at age sixteen and drove 2600 miles to Sydney with his best mate Trevor DiCarlo to get himslef in the acting buisness. His first preformance was a TV show called 'Sweat'. Then he played in a TV Series called 'Roar', a Midevil drama. The people in the US noticed that Heath definately had a talent, and he was casted into a black, Australian comedy called 'Two Hands'. He then moved to LA to work in Hollywood. He stared in '10 Things I Hate About You', beat more than 200 people for the part of Gabiel Martin in 'The Patriot' and now, starring in 'A Knight's Tale'. |
