| Bears, are sexy, larger usually hairy gay men, that are *sometimes* into the same.The most common definition of a "bear" is a man who is hairy, has facial hair, and a cuddly body. However, the word "Bear" means many things to different people, even within the bear movement. Many men who do not have one or all of these characteristics define themselves as bears, making the term a very loose one. Suffice it to say, "bear" is often defined as more of an attitude than anything else - a sense of comfort with our natural masculinity and bodies that is not slavish to the vogues of male attractiveness that is so common in gay circles and the culture at large. |
| Well, according to some bears I can't. But, when I lived in Sydney I was allowed to join "Harbour City Bears" and still have an affiiliate member ship with them now. These guys all saw me for the big butch bear that I am, and the Goldilocks that is my femme and welcomed me with open paws. I also have been in contact with another leather club that is Bear based, and they also have welcomed me with open furry arms as well. I am all there is in bearness, without the fur, and born biologically female, but as I take testosterone and transition, I grow my fur, and seem to have less hassles so far as bioboy bears are concerned. I ID as a TBear or TransBear. There is no doubt as the testosterone flows around my body I am going to be a hairy bearboi. |

| What is Woof??? Woof is a word taken from the internet to mean the equivalent of "Damn what a Hot guy" It is also a way of checking if the guy you are eyeing is a bear, kinda like a codeword.... I have walked down the streets with bears and had them WOOF at eachother. I have a tendency to use it alot.... a great word, with a great meaning. |
